    Only if it's Calzaghe.

    Calzaghe is about 36 himself.

These "superfights" these days are ****. Calzaghe-Hopkins would be a stinker.
You can keep it. As with Mayweather-De La Hoya, these guys will slap and pose a bit and walk away with millions of dollars.

Superstar fighters these days aren't worth a dime, but end up with a pot of gold. It's criminal.

And what's sad is the way fans these days excuse it. Apparently boxing's not about entertaining or actually throwing punches, the true art is essentially boring and uneventful. What a load of crap. Guys like Roberto Duran, Thomas Hearns and Larry Holmes managed to combine amazing skills with action, and they earned everything they got.

WHO HAS JOE BEAT????? God Damn...I mean he looks good against "ALRGIGHT" Guys and even then he is spotty....He hasn't beaten anyone on Bhop's level or even Winky's level. he's not even close to having the Ring record or accolades that Hop has.

The only Chance that Joe beats a guy like Hop is if Hop gets old when they fight which could happen, but JOE is a waste of GREAT talent...he likes to fly under the radar but ***** about not getting the credit....If he would CHALLENGE himself and fight Marquee guys with solid ring accomplishments then he would be better as a fighter...maybe have a loss or two but his legacy would be FAAAAAR better than what it is now or ever will be.

Bhop beats Joe at this point by UD...maybe KO. ANd this isn't even a CLOSE to his prime Hop. Joe needs to get past a solid fighter like Kessler first...I see him winning by UD agaisnt Kessler but again! Kessler is NO bhop or Winky.

Don't get me wrong.....I'm not laughin at you...just what you posted....Anthony Mudine is a sharp guy...good boxer, decent skills GREAT Talent and reflexes but He's not on Joe's level and no where near Bhop or Winks level. He's good though...let's keep it real.

The only way Calzaghe gets to fight Hopkins is by pulling out of the Kessler fight using some lame excuse, because Hopkins won't fight him after he has lost to Kessler.

Calzaghe would beat Hopkins though, no doubt in my mind.

This post is stupid....I aint even gonna waste a post arguing it. But I do want to leave one small thing.

For the people saying it will be an easy win, answer me this....who has Joe fought that is 1/1000 the fighter Hopkins is???

I hope this fight happens, because WHEN Bernard pulls it out, there will be NO denying this spot in history....not that ya can now.

Wouldn't beat? How sure are you? Sounds to me that you're just scared of this fight taking place and a 43 years old fighter exposing your boii.

    :D  :rofl

    :good

    :huh

Hopkins has NOT looked old, and that is what historians will look at. His age is a factor ONLY when it's a factor. As of today, "Historians" are NOT calling Hopkins an old fighter. Historians and fans are NOT on the same page most of the time. You are a prime example of that. Stick to the lounge..

That's not the point - win or lose it's not in Calzaghe's best interest to take this fight - for him or his fans concerned about his 'legacy.'

That was never my original point. IF Calzaghe wins(and I'm positive he will)the doubters will automatically point to Hopkin's age. Joe,through the unforgiving lense of history, will be viewed(in this particular fight)as beating an old over-the-hill champion.

From Hopkins point of view this fight makes perfect sense;fight Calzaghe - win or lose,it's no hair of your back. No loss of respect. No loss of legacy.......And Hopkins and his fans know this - that's why they're not concerned about this possible matchup. If Hopkins wins the fight, he will only add to his already outstanding boxing career.

The Hopkins people know this. Most won't admit it,but I'm pretty sure they know in their heart of hearts he'll lose(Hopkins that is).

    I don't personally give a ****,as I'm a fan of Calzaghe - I'm not Calzaghe's friend,nore am I his mother........But in Calzaghe's interest,it doesn't make sense - his people should know this.

    :lol::lol:

What a dumbass. Do some math you ebonics typing troll - Calzaghe fights in November.

If Calzaghe and Hopkins fight it wont be until late NEXT year already leaving Hopkins a year old than he is now.............All the more time for fathertime to catch up.

Let's be honest; If Hopkins would have lost to Winky, the naysayers would have said he is LOGICALLY past his prime.....But since he won,he's superman - he can beat Calzaghe.:nut

It's ******ed logic, and laughs in the face of logic. No matter what he looked like Saturday,we're talking about next YEAR,and Calzaghe being 6 years younger.

That's not the point.......Hell,I'm all up for Calzaghe punishing the old man. But it will be sweet to hear the idiots afterwards saying Hopkins is past his prime - yeah well.....NO ****.

That's the ****ing point. If you wan't to witness the old man get beat,WITHOUT making excusses, then I can't wait.
