Indeed. Rounds 2 and 5 were both scored 10-8 for Torres, but the only official knockdown was in the 2nd. And that was more of a pull down, although Cotto was still wobbly at the time.

 

Not by much. Clottey would have beatn him if not for the injury. Cotto's hands are fast. Ask Mosley, Pinto, Judah, Sosa, and anyone else that lost to Cotto. Cotto has game plans a,b, and c. Margo has game plan a. He is one dimensional and Cotto will expose it far more than Clottey did.

 

I wouldnt exactly call it a pull down either, it looked to me like Torres was also pivoting trying to keep Cotto from holding on as Cotto was falling face first, the position of Torres's arm at the time you can say it was a pull down but had Torres not been there Cotto would have went down

 

Okay lets talk about this injury shall we? First off you are aware that Margarito also had two injurys did you not catch that? a wrist injury and a ankle injury.
also on the night that Clottey fought Corrales, during an interview with K Bryant Clottey said he did not break his hand he bruised a knuckle.
meaning his injury means squat a bruised knuckle a broken hand, broken ribs cuts what ever its all part of the game, if you break your hand or hurt your hand that goes with the sport.
this is boxing **** happens Clottey did lose and clearly lost weather its true that his hand bothered him that much neither you nor I can say, one thing is for sure Clottey stopped fighting and Tony did not.

 

Agreed. Clottey had a bad break in that fight. If they were to fight again I would still favor Clottey cause he was beatn Margo so easily until his hand was hurt.

 

Clottey won 3 or 4 rounds I wouldnt say he was beating Margaritos ass, he was winning rounds but out of no where stopped punching, like I said Margarito had two injurys but the difference was Margarito sucked it up and kept fighting, Clottey elected to survive that is the difference between a True Champion and a contender.

 

How many times do we need to remind you Margo worshippers that he went down 3 times through his pro career???

I dont know how he got that, perhaps in training but its a fact, the man had two injurys and it seems that the haters tend to avoid bringing that one up, yet they have no trouble bringing up a bruised knuckle that Clottey suffered

 

Fine by me. I was correcting the widespread misconception according to which Margarito never went down (caught a good dozen of posters making that false claim).

People here make a big case of Cotto being rocked (for a whole 2 seconds) by Judah but never mention the three times Margarito was knocked down. Why's that?

I understand what your saying but if anybody gets knocked out early its Cotto if it goes late and Cotto does get some work in on Margarito he more than likely will win a wide UD or late stoppage.
