Hopkins had pretty good power, mainly with the right hand, up until a certain age. The saying "power is the last thing to go" is not always true. Mayweather is a decent puncher, but not aggressive as he could be.

Mike Tyson, Roberto Duran, Ricardo Mayorga, Naseem Hamed, Tony Galento, David Haye, Roy Jones, Fernando Vargas, Zab Judah, etc...are/were all hard punchers.
