if he docked Khan earlier that means if he does it again its another point

Whats all the fuss :huh I've got Khan losing this clearly by at least 3rds!..
Thought Peterson was excellent.
Also no problem with the ref's point deductions, afterall Khan was constantly spoiling (pushing/holding/headlocks,turning his back).

On the plus side for Khan he will come back from this a better fighter IMO.
He's a bright lad and himself and Roach will learn alot from this loss. Khans infighting was v.poor for starters and hes gonna need to develop his power a little or everyone he fights will just walk him down the whole fight as Peterson did to great effect.

I disagree with the majority on here and feel Khan would win a rematch should he get one. IMO Peterson fought pretty much the best he possibly could have last night whereas I'm pretty sure Khan can potentially be alot better than that..

 

Sorry not the best performance of Peterson's career, he is easily capable of better.

 

just watched again..... taking all points/fake knockdowns/deductions for pushing out of consideration and just scoring rounds...

7 rounds to 5 for peterson. he deserved the win regardless of point deductions. either way though, very close fight that could've have gone either way and I can see how someone could have it 6-6 or even 7-5 for Khan but that's the absolute most so the fact that people are crying robbery is ridiculous. when a fight is that close and the judges all score it as close on their scorecards you can't cry robbery!!! close fights like that can go either way, deal with it....lamonts the new champ!!

 

You would know better, ive not seen alot of Peterson.

Just the impression I got from watching last night. Biggest fight of his career in his hometown, seemed like a defining moment for him and it all came together.

Khan deffo underestimated the opposition here.... seemed to have taken his eye off the ball looking beyond this at a FMJ fight IMO.

 

You have to remember this isn't Peterson's first time on teh big stage, he had a huge fight against Bradley and lost it.

As for Khan, he didn't underestimate Peterson, Peterson exploited his weakenesses, he has no inside fighting game, poor footwork, no head movement, and very little technical ability.

 

If anything, he should've penalized Khan for constantly pushing his head down.

 

I realise Peterson has had a couple of big fights prior to this however I would still argue this was the biggest of his career to date.

Yes I do agree he exploited some of khans weaknesses for sure, his inside fighting was terrible and his head movement could deffo have been better but I wouldnt get too carried away with the doom and gloom for Khan and I still think he will be back a better fighter from this experience.

 

Thats just the problem, we have seen worse and refs rarely ever do a damn thing to make certain fair rules of combat are followed.

The only thing I would have done different and I'm not certain whether the ref might have forewarned Khan about it, is to let Khan know loud and clear, "the next one, I'm deducting a point."

......and its likely even that would'nt have made a difference. If anyone was paying attention, after the ref deducted the 2nd point in the final round for pushing off, Khan went ahead and pushed off a couple of more times to the final bell.

It seems this pushing off thing is something Khan has ingrained in his style. It suits him to push off like that anytime an opponent closes distance.
Its unfair if he's allowed to get away with it, and I would think that Khan's future opponents would bring that up to the ref in the prefight instructions as a thing they should lookout and stop Khan from doing.
