THEY WE COMPLETLY DIFFERANT FIGHTS AND HAY CLEARLY WON HIS FIGHT and froch probly lst and got a home town decision in a close fight PLEASE DONT REFFERANCE THE FROCH FIGHT WHEN TALKING ABOUT THE HAYE FIGHT
There are similarities that make it worth comparing. There are differences too. Overall if there is a valid point to be made then people will compare them. This is not a problem.
I've made this point on the British forum as well:good. Dirrell held all night and Haye didn't. Haye was the deserved winner and got a decision in Germany- that's how clear it was! If anything, it was more similar to Khan-Kotelnik if you are picking a recent fight, IMO. Also, before anyone moans, I thought Dirrell won the Froch fight:good.
Haye used his defense to keep a much...much bigger fighter at bay and useless. He was successful. Not once being hurt or barely touched. That was boxing. Not street fighting. The opposing fight was dirty, rough and not very crowd pleasing. Haye's fight may not have been that much more exciting but it was tactical and scary knowing that Haye could get his neck severed at any given moment.
