Don't conclude that Alfredo Angulo is done!

    I cannot believe some of the posts about one of the most hyped up fighters two days ago now being " done ". Seriously? Why? He fought a hard hitter, Acted dumb in round one, Did good in knocking him down, But then thought he'd just beat him all around the ring and he got clipped by Kirkland easily since he was in an extremely low defense state since he thought he was easily gonna stop Kirkland, He took Kirkland too lightly and paid for it, And when he got knocked down it rocked his world, Changed him for the rest of the fight, He had trouble getting back together so he was mostly trying to survive the fight, But I don't get why he'd be " done. " He simply wasn't serious enough about Kirkland, Who is a very risky fighter, Likely he will fight lesser opponents for a couple fights and soon get it together and work his way back up, He can rebuild his career, James Kirkland has over his last 3 fights right before your eyes, He fought and lost to Ishida, He took a few warm ups ( Dennis Sharpe, Alexis Hloros ) and stepped back to top guys ( Alfredo Angulo ) so Angulo should do about the same thing Kirkland did. Many fighters rebuild there careers, It isn't right when you loose it is over, Of course some fighters suffer a bad loss and it mentally changes them as a fighter but that is another thing that there is no reason to assume this would happen to Angulo although it may, Just watch, Right when he gets another big win the hype will come flowing back in, Just like it did last night with Kirkland, So don't make the mistake of counting out Angulo, The same dumb thing we did with Kirkland.

    Here is a good schedule to get angulo on track. 2 Nobodys ( Like Sharpe and Hloros were for Kirkland ), 2 Contender level guys ( Kermit Cintron, Sergio Mora, Alfonso Gomez, Carlos Molina, Bryan Vera, Pawel Wolak ect ) and then bigger fights ( Saul Alvarez, Erislandy Lara, Kirkland 2, ect ), I do not see how at 3-4 fights a year he couldn't do this, He is 29, Not too far from prime, He can come back over the next year, Don't assume he cannot do it yet, He is an exciting fighter, It would be a shame if 1 loss to an extremely hard hitter ruins a good career with some potential left.

    He's extremely slow when gassed.

    People saying "Rematch Angulo KO1" have to be ****ing kidding, James kills him in a rematch.

    El Perro slow-twitch muscle build was exposed against Kermit Cintron. I actually thought he'd KO Kirkland way back when, boy was I wrong.

    James beats Angulo 100/100.

    He's not done if he's still hungry. Bottom line, he came in overconfident & underestimated his opponent. Kirkland has been busier, Angulo hasn't fought enough. He punched himself out in the first round & got gassed, then got clipped by one of the hardest punchers in the division.

    I think the rematch would be epic. Let Angulo get more active & have him spend more time with Nacho, and he could still do some amazing things with his career. Kirkland might whoop him again, or he could whoop Kirkland next time. Even in a rematch I've got it 50/50.

    It wouldn't be Angulo KO 1. But in a risky fight like that between 2 hard hitters, We learned last night, it will likely be a tossup.

    definitely not. paul smith who lost to groves last night has more reason to retire than perro.

    but he has been outboxed by cintron of al people and found wanting against a guy known for stamina and defence issues. even if kirkland has improved expedentially. he still is open and looks like he isn't suited for the fight. and angulo had nothing after 2:00 mins. no stamina, no power, no plan b even.


    had kirkland lost last night...which was very possible. we would be saying similar things.

    I wouldn't stick a fork in him just yet, but that was a beating he took last night. I'm glad the ref stopped the fight when he did, I thought Perro was in some serious danger.

    As for Angulo's future prospects.....I'm not sure one way or the other. I'm a little reluctant to judge either guy long term based on such a wild fight.

    let the man rest and regroup. as long as he stays w/ nacho, hes good. nacho won't him do stupid **** he did in this fight again

    Nobody knows if he's done, but he took a sustained ass whipping for a long time, so sure he could be damaged goods, only time will tell. Getting your ass beat like that can take enough out of you so you cannot be competitive on this level again. He needs six months off at least to recover and then some easy opponents in my opinion.
