Don't Do It Lennox!!!!!

  1. Today that fight wouldn't be as big as everyone thinks. Only to die hard boxing fans this is a dream fight. In the U.S., people are more interested in the UFC and won't pay to see too old heavyweights lace'em up. It had a chance 4 years ago but I just don't feel it has the same appeal. Vitali needs to shut his Frankenstein face up and stop calling the great Lennox out. Vitali got whooped in their first fight. Let it be.

Lewis has accomplished all he needed to, he's not coming back, and that's good for boxing.

If it gets him to retire from commentating on HBO, then I'm all for it.

    Absolutely.

Hoping he doesn't consider it though the money is too big but I know for sure Lewis won't fall for that.

I don´t think he´ll come back, but if he would he could only win.He will have a big payday for sure plus if he wins it just enforces his legacy. If he looses everyone will say he was 43, not motivated enough, just did it for the money, he proved with 37 already that he could beat Vitali out of shape etc...
Vitali can only loose in this fight regardless of the outcome...besides having that big payday of course...
That being said i have a lot of respect for Vitali that he wants this fight where he can only loose so bad just to find his inner peace...

Holmes would have beaten Lewis IMO.

Not sure if any of you remember how disrespectful Lewis was after the Vitali fight. I remember he said something like "I beat him, and I'll beat his brother to!" A whole lot of trash talk, and then he retired...
So, I want lewis to come back, and prove he can back up this trash talk. Most people wanted a rematch to happen because if it had not been for Vitali's eye..Who knows what would have happened. It was also a very competive fight even with the injured eye.
Vitali comes back after almost 5 years to decimate Sam Peter (at 37). Let's see if LL can come back after what 6 years?..To do what everybody says he can and decimate Vitali (at 43).
Personally I thought Vitali would have beaten him in the rematch, and that's why LL didn't give him one. It wouldn't matter though as some of you have stated. Even if Lewis loses most people will say he's to old, etc.

Lennox, dont worry about that public promise you made to Vitali because Floyd lied to Margarito and retired early too; and actually your way way greater than Floyd will ever be

$50 million is an awful lot of money and, in my opinion, Lewis is not as satisfied by his decision to walk away, rather than rematch Vitali, as he claims to be in the press. He did not retire gracefully and the criticism his decision generated follows him wherever he goes to this day. If the chorus of boos and cheers elicited by the crowd every time his face pops up on the jumbotron is any indication, then he is a polarizing figure rather than a universally loved former champion... And that is a bitter pill to swallow. Lewis is a fighter. You simply can't turn that off. Boxing isn't just his passion, it's the only thing he knows. You can't walk away -- at least, not for very long. He has tried to fill the void by working as an expert commentator. But it's a very slippery slope... Personally, if Lewis decides to come back now, I don't have a problem with that. If it can be made, it's the biggest fight out there. The man's legacy is secure, whether he wins or loses in a rematch with Vitali. Why not pad the coffers with an extra $50 million? He has nothing to lose, really. And everything to gain.
