The fact that it was Zab just makes it funnier IMO. If it was say..... Cotto or Vasquez you would sympathise. Zab was just busier in the first round but Kostya was taking the second. IMO the stoppage was OK - if he was OK to get up he should have been able to remain on his feet. Obviously he couldn't so it was all over. A similar thing happened to Amir Khan against Willie Limond, but having got up at 2, waited till the count was 7 (IIRC) and then almost took a knee. He was clearly in Disneyland and should have been stopped, but because it was Khan he was allowed to carry on.
Well, I don't see it in the WBA rules and the other orgs didn't show up in my Google search. Nobody questioned this assertion in the other thread so I just sort of tucked it away in my memory banks. Now I'll have to untuck I guess.
I think he should have got the reglamentary 8 count, but still tszyu stunned him with those those crosses
I honestly think this is a fairly obvious stoppage. From the referee's point of view, if you see a guy doing the dance like that - are you gonna let him continue to fight Kostya Tszyu? Not a chance.
I think what comes into play here, is that fact he was not composed enough to take the 8 count. Is that lack of prep or just being out on his feet?
Whats even funnier is that I already knew what you were talking about as soon as I read the thread title! HAHA:rofl "He got knocked out the most I ever seen anyone get knocked out!"
