Just looking at the public poll, ignoring the numbers.. there are people who IMO are knowledgeable and respectable posters to be found in all 4 major choices.

This is just a fight that needs to happen :bbb

If the fight happens I will go with the more proven and experienced fighter in Froch. He's shown he belongs at the highest level and if any active boxer has the chin to walk through Golovkin's shots it's Froch, the man's chin is iron and even when hurt he recovers quickly.

Golovkin isn't the usual type of fighter that gives Froch problems like Ward, Dirrell, Taylor and Kessler. He won't box he'll go at Froch and if Froch doesn't fold like Golovkin's other opponents he'll find himself in a fire fight like he did with Ouma. Difference here is this time he's the smaller man moving up and while GGG's chin is good, Froch hit's hard enough to hurt even very durable opponents like Kessler and Pascal.

I think Golovkin will be a very tough fight for Froch, he'll get to Froch no doubt and probably even hurt or drop him but Froch doesn't quit and as the fight goes on he only gets stronger, even when he was dominated by Ward in his most comprehensive loss he still finished stronger. Golovkin will have success but likely come unstuck as Froch doesn't fold but stands his ground and will not quit and stops Golovkin late or wins a close decision.

Love watching Golovkin fight, but Froch will have too much, too often for the smaller man.

I think the only question here is whether GGG can stop him. My gut says yes. Froch is elderly and has been put down by Jermain Taylor. He has the fitness, willpower, and experience to survive, but he looked on the way out against Groves a few times and Groves isn't the finisher GGG is.

Froch has proven he can't beat the best. Froch has proven he can be hurt badly by fighters who obviously don't punch as hard as Golovkin. I'd be shocked if GGG couldn't stop him. It's a fun fight and I'd like to see it mind you, Froch would go out on his shield and if Froch survives and GGG fatigues in the later rounds then it could get interesting.
I give Froch a 5% chance of winning. GGG is a better finisher than non-punchers Taylor, Kessler, Groves and Dirrell were who managed to hurt Froch. GGG can counter punch and throw combinations better than those guys.

    Golovkin beats ''current'' Froch.

Froch of the super six may have been a different equation.

Abraham was also a good puncher at 160....at 168, the power disappeared. Just saying

You know that adds up to 110 right? ;)

Also going for GGG close decision, reckon Froch will come on strong late but it won't quite be enough. This is obviously based on me thinking GG power and chin will be comparable moving up which is an assumption and remains to be seen.

What a fight this would be though, 2 of my favourite active fighters in what would surely be a war!

I'd also slightly prefer GGG to have cleaned out MW before moving up but ef it, if he can't get the fights he craves move up and fight the big names there.

Might take a loss or 2 along the way but so long as he is looking for the best/biggest fights he'll have my support.

Another predictable Big Drama Show. An extra 8 pounds is nothing to Golovkin

What physical proof have you that Groves, Kessler, Dirrell don't punch as hard as Golovkin " MIGHT " at SMW ?

I'll tell you what proof you have ABSOLUTELY NONE !

Kessler, Groves and Dirrell are proven punchers at 168, and Taylor was far from feather fisted at 160, just ask Pavlik.

Do you see my pun here ?

Froch will TKO Golovkin, depending how badly shocked Golovkin is when he realises he's in deep, will determine whether he goes out on his shield or is pulled by his corner.

A super slick, super defensive, devastating one punch KO specialist may pose problems for Froch.

    Golovkin isn't that fighter IMO.

Golovkin will be drawn into a gunfight and beaten up in the later rounds.

    I'm like this

    Froch via Stoppage - 25%
He hits GGG with a beuty I can see him out cold
    Froch via UD - 5%
I don't see Froch beating one of the best technical boxers ever on points(he'd need a lot of knock-downs)
    GGG via KO 10%
Froch's chin is granite. His heart will also see him through till the end.
    GGG via Decision 60%
Froch gets out "froched" by a younger, faster harder puncher who uses combinations to rack up the rds (in a close affair.)

I can see Froch hurting GGG, I just see GGG being the more aggressive taking the rds winning by a UD
