You lick Calzaghe's balls for the Jones fight but trash Pacquiao for stepping up and fighting a past his prime fighter but a fighter that can still compete at the elite level and Pacquiao is stepping up 2 weight division and has only fought at 135 once so he is pretty much stepping up 3 weight classes in less then a year with no tune up. And DLH is stepping down a weight division.atsch

And style wise Pacquiao is at a serious disadvantage. He isn't a cute defencive boxer that can out box the bigger slower man he has to get in there and FIGHT with the bigger guy if he is to win.

Giving my opinion on Calzaghe is hardly nuthugging, maybe it is from a hater standpoint, and it still has nothing to do with this thread. But if you like: yes, there's no historical credit in beating an old Roy. It's a great name on his resume, just DLH's would be on PacMan's, and that win would mean more. But looking at their age and their performances compared to their prime, neither fighter are the same once was.

By the way: you're right: Pac is at a STYLE disadvantage, if he'll lose, DLH's once very effective style will have a lot to do with that. But you are among the few how look at this more from the style than the weight standpoint, so credit goes for that.

This would be a legendary win, IF he does win, and a very big if. I can breakdown and analyse fights very well and though my heart is fully with Pac, in my head I just cant see it. ODLH had enough speed to trouble Floyd, enough pop to KTFO Mayorga, a 6" reach & height advantage and about 10lbs in weight. With p4p skills to boot. You can bring ODLH age but lets just look at Bernard a moment here. Pac did not pick Ruiz, Pac picked an ATG fighter who himself recently took an ATG p4p #1 WW in PBF to an SD.

Lets compare this fight to Calzaghe coming up to HW to fight Vitali Klitschko. Both ODLH & Klitschko on their recent fights took the best fighters in their division to a very close fight (PBF & Lennox), both retired part time boxers, both still damm good and hold a clear size advantage and skilled with it.

Another thing, DLH is supposudley too shot for Pac but no one would have complained if he fought Margarito or Cotto. Pac must be held to a real high standard round here, cos DLH is good enough for those guys but too shot for Pac.
