The call for MP-JMM 3 fight to happen is amazing. Pac just fought this guy twice, knocking him down 4 times in the process, breaking his nasal bone, reconstraucted his face and still people wants to see the 3rd fight. People just can't accept the fact that their styles were made for each other. JMM will have his moments but certainly he will KDed again.

Some fans just would never stopped until JMM wins. It is like asking Vazquez-Marquez to fight ad libitum, ad nauseaum until their brains would be scrambled. If Pac wins again, surely there would be call for JMM-Pac 4, 5, 6 until JMM wins.

I do not see rationale for another JMM -Pac fight. The outcome would still be the same, very narrow victory for either JMM or Pac depending on fan's perspective.

Now, What should he gain fighting Campbell aside from the worthless alphabet belts? The same Campbell whose only note in a career consisting of losses to journeymen including Peden twice(yep the same Peden whup by MAB) is beating featherfisted Juan Diaz.

Hes fought JMM two times already.... with a third no doubt in their future. I can spare him a few ****ing months to go up and do his best against De La Hoya... who a fight before last mayweather escaped with a split decision against. If anyone thinks this isnt a great challenge for manny then their blind.

OF COURSE this isnt pac vs Margarito... the fact that it IS hoya at this stage IS WHAT MAKES it interesting.

have you seen the size of pacman? hes smaller then hatton.... why the hell would i want him to fight the best 147lbers in the world in their primes when he shouldnt even be fighting in the division BELOW them.

Hes fighting Oscar because its the biggest fight that can be made for eather of them (well maybe not oscar but def pac) and its much much more winnable and even at this point in their careers (with manny having peaked and oscar on the decline) then him vs margarito/cotto/williams

that was me playing devils advocate btw although i do believe what i wrote, about giving manny a break.... personally i think this is a stupid fight, but one im excited for just because i believe manny will bring it to the best of his abilities.... i just dont see it as being enough... nor close to, and this fight shouldnt be happening in the first place with all the other fights around them to be made.

    NALLEGE,

For a chance try to use your gray matter before you reply ok?! Here's my quesion. How often do you see a fighter moving up two weight categories to fight somebody taller, longer reach? Considering the boxer hardly have any experience on his last weight category. PAC only fought once at 135lbs.. moving from 130lbs

After the win NO CREDIT from pure Pac HATERS....then being only at 135lbs once he JUMPED two weight classes. Again no credit from the likes of you?!

May I ask you? HOW OFTEN DO YOU SOMEBODY DO IT?! If many times PLS ENUMARATE?! Do you see it so often that it becomes sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ORDINARY to you?!

For a change try to answer INTELIGENTLY and stop hating for awhile and answer using your gray matter!

Follow up QUESTION Nallage... challenging question to you if your gray matter still works!!!!

Is there anybody CURRENTLY at 135lbs who has a BETTER chance of beating DLH?! Who has the same explosiveness and Charisma as PAC?!

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if you give a **** answer. Coz it's already EXPECTED of you ! Anyway... we will know by your answer if you are a hopeless case! :yep

What a big crock full of utter bull****.

I can't believe someone actually started a thread chiding Pac for not fighting Margarito instead of Oscar. What’s worse is that some people here actually agree with it.

    :patsch

If Pacquiao, a lightweight noob recently removed from 130 can’t even be given credit for moving up 2 divisions to take on a Great, granted it’s a faded Great but one still competitive at top level and who enjoys a significant size, reach and power advantage, than who does deserve credit for fighting Oscar?

I remember people chastising Oscar -- and rightly so -- for running away from Margarito and telling him to first sort out his unfinished business with Williams. What an excuse huh? Majority of knowledgeable boxing peeps wanted Oscar-Margarito, more so when he promised a fight to the winner of Cotto-Margarito, but in the end he opted for recent lightweight Pacquiao, probably after seeing that demolition of Cotto.

WHAT IF Oscar actually summoned up the BALLS to fight Margarito instead of Pacquiao? Then by your reasoning, should Margarito be getting even bigger flak considering he’s the bigger guy in that equation?

Nah… people would be saying what a good match up it was and would look forward to it with nary a protest praising both for giving us one hell of a fight.

    :good :good GREAT POST

YUP! You can NEVER satisfy some people. They will try to say something to take ANY credit from some people.

Yes, they will say nah! PAC should be facing boxer A.. in the event he beats boxer A, Nah! PAC should be fighting A,B,C.................

Funny thing about the reasoning of Bigbone is He lambasted PAC for fighting DLH but also said he should fight the likes of JMM and CAMPBELL  ...

In other words it's not OK to fight DLH but OK to fight JMM, CAMPBELL and MARGARITO. WHAT A ****ing LEAP!!!?!!!

WTF is the kind of REASONING BIGBONE. YOU SOUND SO STUPID!

Go on with your REASONING and LET YOUR STUPIDITY be EXPOSED

FYI, what legacy will PAC get by winning over CAMPBELL who lost to:

Hlatswayo ?!, Lorenzo?! Robbie Paden 2x and CASA

and Guess what ?Robbie Paden lost to big names such as JMM and Mab and also a couple of nobody's such as Ganoy and john brown!

That's CAMPBELL "the Champ" for you BIGBONE!!!!!

Best indications that Oscar is still competitive (especially against a small guy like Pac): 1. His performance against Floyd, 2. He only fought 4 times in the last 4 years.

I really couldn't find any valid explanation why Oscar was considered impossible to beat by Pac when the fight was first mentioned and now considered quite beatable. It's like sayin Calzaghe can't beat Tyson if ever they were to fight. But when the fight is scheduled people will say Tyson will more likely lose since he is old. The sense of time of some people here are completely lost.

You still don't get it. Once this fight was labeled as an utter **** by all, now people buying it. I don't have a problem with the fight, I have problem with people who think it offers historical achievements. It's a money fight, so don't act like it's for the history of the sport. That's all.

But it seems people don't read my posts. I said Pac is a HOF and it would be great to beat Oscar, just only not THAT great to have a nice place in the history books, or make this little fighter the fighter of the decade. Other fights can (prime competition, titles), but not this. Beating an old man outside of your division in a non-title fight simply can't be better than beating actual champs in your own division, and if the public still think it can, then there's serious problems with boxing.

I also added, that Floyd was a flyweight at 17 as well - but 150 fight night vs. Hatton. He grew, just as Manny, who was 146 fight night. It's almost the same. In boxing, not size (Caballero, Williams still has a loss to a smaller man), but WEIGHT matters, and reports say Pac weighs 151 in training camp, and Freddie says on BS: "we're coming DOWN to 147, we're not moving up like everybody thinks". Pac looks awesome, full of energy, he's a prime power puncher, and will weight about 151-3. DLH is 145 in training camp, looks drained, looked old vs. Forbes. Tell me: who has to deal with the weight more? Sorry if I don't see the big jump here. PacMan is not a Flyweight moving up. He's about the same in weight as Floyd as a WW.

My problem was and still is that they are trying to sell this as a huge task for Manny with the historical credit of a prime LW beating a prime WW. No one asks him to beat Margarito. I only ask you guys not to give the same credit for beating the old DLH as beating Margarito. In 24/7 they say: it was the biggest challenge for Manny. But how can a nontitle fight be bigger than a fight for the true LW championship?

So: I like this fight as a money fight, and I even like PacMan's chances, as DLH looked bad vs. Forbes and doesn't look healthy in training videos. Let's say Manny knocks out DLH via a body punch around the 10th round. Where does this win rank in his career?

    1. MAB for the FW championship
    2. Morales (2nd fight) because he was the first to stop Erik
    3. either JMM fight (if you think Pac won) because of the FW/SFW championship
    4. Sasakul (actually it's PacMan's most underrated win) for the FlyW championship
    5. Ledwaba for the bantamweight title

This is the 'prime group' of PacMan's achievements. I'd put a DLH win in the 2nd group, or maybe in between. 2nd group contains fights where he did win convincingly, but not necessarily vs. prime and great fighters for for a big title.
-DLH, a taller man at WW in a non-title fight
    -Diaz for the LW belt
    -3rd Morales, 2nd Barrera win
    -Lucero
    -Larios

    Freddie Roach on BS:
"DLH is a HOF fighter, was a great fighter at one time. He's just old. It's when Marciano beat Joe Louis, Oscar beat Julio Cesar Chavez. People stay in the game too long and I think Oscar stayed in the game too long." :think

For Chrissakes!!! Even PacMan's trainer admits it!

Yes I would rather see Pac fight the best lightweights, but to beat DLH would be huge. For DLH, a win means next to nothing. The natural size disparity between these fighters is immense. Also, if Pac were to actually stop DLH (people would say DLH was fatigued from weight loss of course) it would overshadow Mayweather's shaky SD over DLH and possibly draw FMJ back to take on Pac.

I agree that DLH doesn't deserve to be rated at the top of 147, 154 nor pound for pound, but considering that how tiny Pac is, in comparison, a win would be monstrous for his legacy.

These fights are annoying though, I would much rather see DLH / Margarito and Pacquiao / Campbell.

I'm tired of these massive weight jump fights. RJJ over Ruiz is impressive in its own way but these weight jump fights spoil the more interesting weight division fights usually forever, the moment is gone.

It will be good for the serious boxing observer when DLH FINALLY is retired. His mere presence in the sport has everyone's toungue hanging out for that payday and everyone angling for it, I can't blame them, its all about making the dollars (well the euros anyways lol) but it effects everything mostly in a negative way.

The only thing worse then this would be if he went up and fought an even more shot Roy Jones...... Kinda like Calzaghe did.

He didn't make history by beating Roy, that's for sure. Nor will he be the FOTY for THAT win, no matter how impressive it was.
