Because of his style, he is not an old worn down 35.....

Martinez beat the crap out of Williams and did not even have time to train for that fight! He had time to train for Pavlik though.

I actually didn't know he was so old. . .I'm glad he finally got the win cuz I think he was robbed in his two previous high-profile fights.

I give him props for being in such good shape at that age.

When he was knocked down even though he didn't appear hurt I thought that was it, Pavlik had gained momentum and had found a way to turn the tide. Then Martinez came firing back with those blazing hands of his. Awesome **** for a guy his age. I had a feeling that if it hadn't been for his resurgence and the fight went to the cards as a close one, he would've been robbed again. Thankfully he did enough to win. Hope Sergio doesn't take the rematch lightly.

I bet if martinez lost, somebody will be screaming here that he is old that is why he lost to a younger athlete. Great win by Martinez, btw. I hope he will collect all belts in 154.

Man i've grown tired of reading this ****. For godsake whoever thought Martinez was robbed vs Williams are as dumb as farmboxer and "pavlik is champ".

I think it's good for people to keep that in mind. It's a great accomplishment but again, he's thirty-five and this is his only victory over a name opponent or current champion. People are talking about his legacy now. I think this guy is a terrific athlete and extremely likable but he's had one win that I can think of over a name opponent here and he's probably on the the downside of his career already. Doesn't leave a great deal of time for a "legacy" type career. He's been handling outmatched opponents in obscurity for years and probably not taking much damage as a result of his style and opponents but still. How long does he have?

Yeah, I even scored the Williams fight slightly for Martinez but I don't think a draw or a win for Williams would have been arguable either. People are only pissed about that because they either hate Williams or they can't see past that one corrupt judge's wide decision card.
