    Williams beat Margo wide, either 9-3 or 8-4 and deserves his plaudits as no1 at the weight. Margo has done wonderfully in his last 2 fights but Williams is no1 now until he loses. Lets see Margo-Williams 2 or Cotto-Margo 2.

    If Cotto had looked to beat Margo to the punch instead of letting Margo punch first and countering he would win but Cottos engine needs to up a gear to beat the punching machine that is Margo.

    -Williams vs Margarito was a close fight, even the scorecards showed it was 7-5. Paul admitted it after the fight.

    -Margarito just beat the number 1 Welter in the world, he takes the spot as he deserves.

    -Cotto fought great but Margo's pressure was too much and he succumbed.

    Give Margo his props, or just stop posting your hateful bashing. :hi:

    Williams is #1. He beat Margo afterall.

    Margarito is #2.

    The title is vacant.

    I would be quick to say that Williams is the #1 WW in the world as well. But, he did go on to lose to Quintana. So the title is vacant IMO until they get it on in a rematch.

    Margo is #1, as he beat the #1 WW.

    Williams is #2, as even though he lost one of his last two fights he avenged it, and after Margo's win over Cotto, PW's stocks obviously soar.

    title is vacant, but id give the #1 spot to margo as of now...Williams has a more recent loss than Margo does.

    Cotto was the consensus #1 WW all of a sudden that's not a good enough victory to place Margarito at the top of the heap!

    Williams beat Margo only 1 year ago, 1 year ago, and it was a clear win

    Williams has beat every man he faced

    The thing is Cotto isnt number 1 unless he can beat Margo and Williams.

    If Williams has and can beat Margo NOW (and he did only 12months ago), he is number 1, End of Story (unless Cotto beats Williams, then it gets complicated):lol:

    I see where you are coming from, but Williams losing to Quintana sort of spoiled claim at being number one. Sure he avenged that lose with a first round KO, but Marg came back to knockout his last three with Cotto being in that number.

    Williams did beat Marg in a close fight so, its inevitalbe that they will have a rematch and the winner of that will be the king IMO.

    Was Cotto ever linear, undisputed? What did he do to be rated above Williams? We all rated Cotto number 1 but we also all rated Williams above Margo for the obvious reason that he beat him

    Williams > Margo > Cotto - SIMPLE

    right now i have Williams at #2 behind Margo

    Maybe like this

    1. Marg
    2. PW
    3. Cotto
    4. Mosley

    even though PW beat Margarito, i think MArgarito had a pretty off night, much like PW did when he lost to Quintana.

    Just cause Williams beat MArgarito in the past does not mean he is eternally ranked ahead of him until they rematch. Margarito can still surpass him in the rankings by fighting other guys, which imo he did against Cotto.

    A Margarito vs PW rematch makes alot of sense right about now
