Dont get all this 10 ten wins threads

    Obviously its people who dislike a fighter trying to insult their accomplishments. Digging up 10 solid undisputable unanimously respected wins on a boxing forum is impossible.

    Lately its Hopkins and Calzaghe catching **** having their wins discredited and they use the number 10 to show that the lower half of the list are bums.

    Well they both did something that no fighter ever does anymore and that is sit on a title at their naturl weight beat all comers they both had 20 defenses plus

    meaning they defeated like 2 generations of contenders

    With a reign like that sure you get a lot of c level defenses but many are mandos to avoid getting stripped and both men unified and then moved up and won and defended a lineal title at another class

    Joe Louis had 25 defenses and didnt fight an ATG every fight hell he had a bum of the month club. mixed with HOF fighters here and there. Hopkins and Calzaghe have more than one HOF guy on their resume

    Take your favorite fighter and name his top 10 it may be hard digging up 10 but that doesnt mean they are a chump

    If anyone would like to argue I would interested as I don't know too much about this era of featherweights and are interested in learning more (I Don't know who Garcia and Castanon are but they fought for the world title so I'l give them the benefit of the doubt)

    I don't think this is a good top 10 at all. You are doing the opposite to what you intended here, you are highlighting how thin Shane's win resume is. Oscar beat him easily in their 2nd fight (I had it by 5 points), so excluding that I'd say he has a measly 1 amazing win (Oscar 1), 1 great win (Margarito), and not much else of anything. Holiday and Collazo were decent but no better, Vargas and Mayorga were a long way past their best when Shane got to them, and the rest is feeble.

    Popkins I completly agree. I like Mosley a lot and have his career set on dvd but this does not stop me from seeing how thin his resume is. Despite the way he smashed the lightweight division to pieces there were better fighters around and there are no monsters he beated. He has a few good wins but I think his win over Oscar was one of the best wins of the 2000-2010 decade. He achieved little at 154 and won the title with a extremely controversial decision. People forget how good Oscar De La Hoya was then. I like Mosley a lot however his skills outweigh his resume (based on wins). The question was 10 of your favorite fighters best opponents, not boxers with the greatest wins. I was simply stating my opinion.

    I would argue a few of your placings (if they actually are in order that is), but nice work nonetheless. I don't think Floyd has a strong set in terms of brilliant wins, but he definitely does have good depth to his resume, much like Lennox Lewis. The other three are three of the very best resumes of this age. :happy
