Is bellew a ppv fighter without haye?

 

If he challenges one of the World Heavyweight Champions - yes

I personally don't believe in ripping off Sky Subscribers with PPV for any fight.

Bellew will not fight a big heavyweight...he couldn't knock a crippled Haye out, who is more like a big cruiserweight. They wouldn't respect his power, and just walk him down.

He will be desperately be hoping that Haye agrees to fight again after his injury, and even if Haye wins, the contract will stipulate a rematch to make a trilogy of big money fights for both of them.

 

Depends on the money, it might be that Tony is better off fighting for a world title for a good payday and if he loses then fight David Haye. The issue might be that if he fights David and loses, he risked his title shot that could earn in more. Also David needs some time to recover and regroup. However it the title fight is not on the table in the rematch will make a lot of sense financially.

What makes you think a world title fight would be a good payday? He is only likely to get a 3rd or less of what he would get in a Haye rematch. Wilder only got about $900k last fight and Bellew has just picked up £2.4m against Haye. In a rematch he would get 50/50 cut this time so upwards of £3.5 - £4m. In a world title fight he would get what 25 - 35% of the purse ?

 

I'm completely out of the loop in regard to what the top fighters get paid these days so thanks for the info. I just assumed that world title fight would obviously be a big pay-per-view but of course Tony challenging might not set the world on fire in regard to pay-per-view buys. I love what you're saying because I want to see the rematch, mainly because I like both boxers and would welcome the enjoyable drama, and I am enormously intrigued what David Haye can do, the ring rust was well and truly knocked off, also it must be so hard to train when you got to remember back years and years to your major fight, it all needs to be in your recent memory to get the motivation to push yourself.

 

Regardless of personal opinions and that sham of a fight on Sat which earned both millions, Bellew is now a household name and people will tune in to watch him challenge for a World Heavyweight Title earning him a few million pounds in the process.

 

I think right now with a good undercard Bellew in a cruiserweight unification fight would do good numbers on ppv.

 

No he would make millions because it would be on ppv in the UK and do big numbers. It would be a volunteer defence for whoever he fought and Bellew could demand at least half the money and get it as he would bring most money to the table. Wilder gets about £1-1.2m a fight the gate at the 02 alone us about £2m then you have US tv money sponsors and ppv in U.K. And other right fees around the world.

 

Bellew would be wise to try to fight Haye again. He'd be favourite to win that fight.
The problem is, if Haye and Bellew are both injured then it might take many months to get together.

 

"DO" give Haye a rematch............it is logical thinking............big money for the rematch because of the injury, if Haye loses, then he should retire.........
