Hatton is right here. If Khan decides to box from the outside and keep distance his speed will overwhelm Collazo and he will eventually bank enough rounds to win. If he decides to exchange then he's most likely going to get seriously hurt or stopped. If fighters at 135-140 seriously hurt him then at 147 even Collazo, who isn't a big puncher, could hurt and drop him with a single punch. I'm expecting Khan to fight smart in this one to guarantee the payday against Mayweather, he knows this is his last chance to score a big payday so he's most likely going to be as cautious as possible in there.
Gotta agree with Ricky on this. Khan can no longer afford to go toe to toe with anyone who has any semblance of power. Granted, Collazo is far from a power puncher, but he is VERY experienced and tough. I think Collazo will KO Khan.
Khan always needs to box smart, if he does that and with his hand speed he can mostly win the rounds by beating the other fighter to the punch without putting himself under too much danger. Khan doesn't want to stay in the pocket too long keep his combos short in the first half of the fight, work his jab and watch out for the overhand left hook Collazo will try to land, and his left uppercut too.
Darni, you say that all the time about Khan. You have too much faith. That was a Khan that looked good at times, however, he was still making those rudimentary mistakes. On top of that he hasn't shown that he's corrected those mistakes, and he's in a division that punches a lot harder. He's better than most to give advice, he's been in the ring with Collazo and is a former world champ. Also, being a massive figure in British boxing he's bound to be asked questions about Khan.
If its true that Khan had been sniffing cocaine like his buddy Hatton then Khan's punch resistance will be even weaker than it is and he will loose in an embarrassing way only to then say he will come back stronger.
Well, he should never go to war, considering he's got a disgraceful glass mandible. With his horrendous ring IQ, I wouldn't be surprised to see him knocked SPARK OUT against Collazo, who is a non-puncher, really.
Khan throws pitter pat punches that have no effect. Khan has no power or Chin or Ring IQ. He is simply not made to be a prizefighter.
Amir Khan is a fragile flower, and with the 147lbs gearing up, he might aswell retire to preserve what is left of his glass brain.
This was my initial thought but ppl on here seem to think he's been picked because Khan team feel he should be an easy opponent I am however yet to see that theory explained
It's curious that the Manchester throwback made it specially dominant for him early on by going all over Collazo and tagging him with a left hook upstairs which produced a knockdown in the very first round. Means that Hatton never had a clear perception of his potential as a energy, intense fighter to now give this sort of crap advice to fellow country men. Amir must go for the kill and that's it!
