When a world class boxer hits this hard networks will pump him up. It's like he has a 2 by 4 attached to his gloves. Fans want to see destruction. GGG brings that. It's obvious.
He needs competition that actually compete with him. He keeps beating up low level guys because his division is weak. Super welter and Super middleweight has beasts for him.
Most people who dont like GGG, are very reasonable boxing fans who just want to see him face the best and prove his talent, i dont think thats too much to ask for. do you? :roflatsch
He fits 160 like a glove. Canelo a natural 160 pounder won't fight him. Cotto is a little small and won't fight him. He beat the best man at 160 besides himself. 168 is weak or inactive. It's a product of circumstances.
Who would be able to compete with him outside of Ward? GGG owns middleweight and anyone from Jr. Middleweight. At 168, there's only a few people who would be competitive. Froch is pretty much retired. Ward is no longer there at the moment, so that leaves Andre Dirrell & DeGale, who will be fighting each other soon. He can certainly fight the winner of that contest.
Murray was the best in the division. Geale was second best. Cotto is third best and is now fighting Geale, who GGG destroyed. I want to see fights like Lara, Alvarez, Cotto, Froch, and Ward. But realistically, Alvarez has put a 2yr hold on that, Cotto wants no part and will retire after Geale and Alvarez beat him, Froch will retire rather than fight GGG, and Ward wants him to come to 168 and fight in his backyard for a B-side split with Ward's immediate family as referees and judges. Lara is the only one who wants the fight, and I would also like to see that. I don't think it makes financial sense, but if GGG makes it happen then he deserves a lot of credit.
154-160 in weak and I don't know why. The average man would probably be that size. There should be lots of depth.
These guys think a quick outside boxer with little power will beat GGG are in for a big shock. munroe will get knocked out quick, lara would aswell.
Meh, hype is fine, hype is even good for boxing, we want to see people grow and seem like they could be the next great fighter, just as equally as we like seeing when these guys are tested and exposed. It does make me laugh, on one hand people can't give credit to fighters at the level of say a JMM, or a Winky Wright because they were never "the top guy" in their career, but on the same token, they spend all their time thinking up "Well, this guy is the guy to beat the top guy". For the last 10 years, I think I can recall pretty much every year, some new fighter coming up and "being the guy that would beat Floyd" or "being the guy that would beat Wlad" or "being the guy that would beat Calzaghe" As those guys either get exposed (Margarito, Cotto, Pacquaio, Hopkins, Lacy, Kessler, Sam Peter, Povetkin, Ibragimov) - instead of saying "Jesus, how good are the fighters that beat them?", they're instantly renounced as hopeless and the next breed comes ( Thurman, Golovkin, Fury, Wilder ) etc. It's just the natural progression of boxing.
One of these other "top fighters" everyone is screaming about should just fight GGG and end all the hype:rofl Wonder why they don't want it?
