It's also been, what-over 2 years at the least since Rigo competed. Cut him some slack. He's had a lot happen in his life in that time and I'm sure he was tense at first turning pro and all. That and Noriega's defensive posture and refusal to throw didn't help.

I got the vibe that Rigondeaux realized after that KD that the guy he was fighting was nothing and basically got bored.

Not an excuse but I think he's just bored.

    DURAN!

Gutierrez deserves the nod on the basis of his hat alone.

Let's see if Teddy Atlas' man servant Saul shows up.

Holy hell Saul has a fiancee?!

    Teddy mustn't be happy.

Gutierrez vs Smith should be a very good fight.

I agree, but he looked nothing like the old rigondeaux.

i'm afraid he turned pro too late.

More impressed with Lara initially, but that's because I couldn't really analyze Rigondeaux's overall game against such a hapless opponent. Lara seemed to have similar physical tools with a more varied technical game, though once again, that's probably because of the flat out lack of effort and energy Rigondeaux expended.

im not too worried, in fact if you look at gamboa's and lara's debut they were not impressive at all either. I think once he gets about 3 -4 fights under his belt we should be able to see if he still got it. Noriega's style didn't really help but again rigo looked kind of awkward throwing those fake punches. But time will tell

I always like a good in-fight. This one is delivering and then some. These guys have been nose to nose the whole night.
