Saunders is Canelo's best win in a while.

saunders wasnt a very good 168 fighter. canelo is in a spot where 168 is fairly weak.

Saundera is still a world class win, just not an elite win, but regardless it's a good win

It's a decent win, but for all the hoopla Canelo's resume at 168 is not that great:-

    Rocky Fielding
    Callum Smith
    Avni Yildirim
    Billy Joe Saunders

I know Callum Smith got props for beating Groves, but that was a one-armed faded and shopworn Groves, and I've never rated Smith since getting lit up by Erik Skoglund.

For example, considering all the stick Calzaghe get's about his resume, I'd say that Brewer, Mitchell, Sheika & Bika are arguably better than anything on Canelo's 168 resume, let alone Eubank & Kessler. Of course that was over a MUCH longer period.

I still can't understand why Canelo moved up to 168 before being Undisputed at 160, but maybe that was to do with Charlo (and arguably still GGG) as much as making weight?

Undisputed Middleweight is surely a better legacy than Undisputed @ 168 i'd have thought.

Canelo's wins at 168 are still better than most other fighters near his division. Hell Smith and Fielding alone are probably better than anything that say Andrade has done in his whole career.

I don't understand, even though it was brief, Saunders was giving Canelo problems. It was an interesting fight before that stoppage.

The first 7 rounds was probably the best we’ve seen from Saunders, up there with the Lemieux fight and the first half of the Andy Lee fight.

Saunders is very good. He's made huge improvements, but Canelo is just a better boxer. Canelo is p4p best boxer in the world for a reason. I can't see anyone beating him at his weight, he's that good. So powerful, great technique, so calm, and accurate.
