That's as may be, and of course he did ultimately destroy Saunders' face to render the judges moot (and was up on their cards anyway), but of eight completed rounds there's a fair case to be made that he lost half or more of those. You can spin it that water found its level, or you can say that Canelo's power bailed him out from an increasingly embarrassing situation. A little more carefulness or luck on Saunders' part, and he could well have continued his run from the 5th-7th for as long as his gas tank allowed. If the judges gave him even three of the remaining 5 rounds after the 7th, he would have a draw on Cheatham's scorecard and would have thereby at least held Canelo to a MD (which doesn't scream 'levels apart')

but, im pretty confident i understand exactly what was happening, as i described it pretty accurately pre fight, thats why none of my previous posts on the subject need amending. reality has yet to deviate from what ive been saying.
