Don't overrate Hopkins victory

I agree with this post. Fans on ESB can get really disrespectful for fighters they don't like or a fighter who is a rival to their favourite fighters.:tired

They don't think about the fact that they put their health on the line every time they step in the ring.

Pascal IMHO is still a limited fighter though.

The above is all true, however, Pascal is an extremely limited boxer. He can wing punches he doesn't know how to technically box very well.

 

Sorry to tell you this , but that's the way Chad fights. He didn't do anything different in that fight that he doesn't always do. He drives me crazy because he has so much skill and speed but just doesn't seem to care .... or something .. I can't figure it out but as of right now neither can Steward either.

It doesn't mattter who someone beats, there's always going to be detractors(usually fueled by an ulterior motive). Overall though, I think the boxing community realizes that this was a helluva win for Hopkins.

 

why would he fight dawson when dawson just got beat by the **** fighter in pascal.

Bhop is the real deal. He is pretty annoying sometimes, but in the ring he is like a good old wine. I have a lot of respect for him.

Nah....JP is a good fighter.. He's a top Light WH and even though the DIVISON is weak....Nard dominated the fight against a man who had all the PHYSICAL advantages.

Let's not DOWNPLAY the significgance of the win. It was HISTORY! And Nard went OUT to put on a display that put him in direct line with RISK! We can't say that about a lot of fighters these days.

I give Nard 110% credit for what he accomplished and see the win as one of his best....overall of course.

If you say that ANY TRUE CHAMPION wouldn't loose to a 47 yr old fighter then you have to say that ANY TRUE CHAMPION WOULDN'T HAVE LOST TO MANNY who was absolutely defying the odds....Just like Nard did.

 

it is true. Pascal is not a great fighter. The top fighters have now become handpickers. Even Pacman handpicks, but not as obvious as Hopkins.

amazing isnt a word good enough to put next to his name for being his age and doing what hes doing in the ring and especially against a 27 year old champion. pascal aint a 27 year old thomas hearns , no ****... but go look at the other guys 40 years old like duran who go beat by journey man, mike tyson at age 38 was beaten up by a guy that wasnt even ranked...evander holyfied got beat up by larry donald in his 40s..., sugar ray leonard at age 40 was demolished by a young terry norris...hopkins is 46 and even had he lost, what he has done is unheard of...whether you think pascal sucks or not, the guy can fight...but just fought the wrong fight and wrong guy

 

Ya Pascal is not great .. I guess the victory isn't THAT great, but it's still GOOD. He beat the lineal champion, even if he waited till dawson loss it.
