The Dawson fight is going to be tough for Bhops ..I think Pascal is the perfect reason why the Lineal title gets overratted ..I don't think most people respected Pascal as the best fighter in the division .

Hell Froch is south of him we all know his credientials are better than Jean's ..Hops though for the most part its hard to take credit from him after a performance like that .I will enjoy it he made me eat my words !

Actually Froch has a better style to beat Nard than Chad. Chad isn't as busy as he'll need to be if he does get a shot at Hopkins. Froch is always busy but he's slower and easier to hit.

The reason Joe did so well is simple....he had the right style to beat nard PLUS he had more talent.

Calzaghe's workrate and speed imo made the diffrence against Bhops ,I mean look at the Jermain Taylor fights he also outworked him ..Not so sure about Froch having a better style than Chad ..If somehow Chad can put his punches together and not fight in spots he can also out work him ..

THe speed helped but the WORKRATE made the difference. Chad isn't a HIGH WORKRATE kind of guy. He's a sharp puncher who is slick and fights in spots, taking advantage of counter punching opportunities.

You won't beat Nard at counter punching! Froch's workrate alone makes me believe he has the "STYLE" that will cause Nard problems.

Nard stifles speed with his countering and timing. However....Nard can be out worked.

Hopkins knows Dawson would beat him the same way Taylor did, I don't think he'd "beat him up" but Dawson would win the fight. Which is why Hopkins wouldn't fight Dawson, but the minute Pascal got the belt he was throwing out challenges. Dawson will beat Hopkins, and Dawson would beat Pascal in a rematch as well.

Yeh right, Hopkins is nothing special... Pascal BEAT Dawson ... So Hopkins went after the title. Isn`t that what your supposed to do ? Now people are saying that Pascal who was the champ isn`t all that ? And Hopkins even beat him twice... So your also saying Hopkins cherry picks ? Nobody wanted any part of Hopkins for years ! He has earned it, he is the man !

Yes he sure looked sterling last night ! Everybody is fired up to see who Dawsons next pick will be !!!! Hey guys who are saying Hopkins will lose to this one or that one, he will get outworked blah blah blah. They should ALL be able to outwork the fighter is almost 47 ! Like that`s a revelation saying that Dawson should beat him or outwork him, Wake up, the young fightersare really all that, then they should be able to knock his ass clean out ! But they cant` and don`t !

Can you imagine if hop fought and beat the winner of the tourney at 168 and then moved up to HW or something. He would have to be considering top 10 ATG territory.

I agree. Pascal is not an elite fighter. But, he is no can either. He has a lot of physical tools, which a, considerably, older Hopkins had to overcome. This is what really rates the win so high, aside from the historical significance, IMO. Old legend beats young lion, against all odds. Very few fighters can overcome this....and, at this point, only ONE at 46 years of age.

Someone answer me this: Formeman won the WBU Title at 46 off Alex Shulz, arguably a better fighter than Pascal, then the IBA at 47 and he defended his WBU title. Now, I know that those titles arent as well requarded, but that is the same title that Micky ward won from Shea Nearly and he has been called a world champion. Also, how did Foreman lose his IBF and WBA titles?? did he refuse the mandatory or something or not pay fees?

Ehhh, I don't know. It takes more than workrate as well. Pavlik had a very high workrate and it was totally neutralized and we knew how that fight went.

The problem with Dawson is that you never know which one will show up ..Still its going to be a good fight but much tougher on Bhop than the Pascal fight .
