in the pavlik fight manny kept telling taylor to get off the ropes and he did not listen. If you watch teh fight you will hear him yelling every round for taylor to get off the rope in the corner and what happens pavlik pins him against the ropes and knocks him out. The reason why taylor did better in the 2nd fight was because he fought more in the center of the ring like manny wanted in the first fight so taylor could use his athletic ability.

I'm not assigning blame to either Manny or Jermaine. I'm just saying that mix didn't work for whatever reason. Manny's not beyond question, though. He's had a few of his fightes KO'd lately.

Jermaine also seemed to have better stamina in the second Pavlik fight, which might be why he stayed so stationary in the first fight. When he had Pavlik down in round two, he couldn't even muster up the strength to try to finish him. His execution and stamina were better in the rematch, which probably means that his trainer then is a better fit for him than Manny. It will be interesting to see how he looks against Lacy.

Neither guy would beat Kessler. Lacy is pretty sorry and I'd pick Andrade over both.

Looking forward to the Taylor/Lacy fight.. Expecting Taylor to outclass Lacy for 12 rounds then fighting against Froch/Pascal for the WBC title.. I don't think his losses to Pavlik has left any bad effects at all.. JT is still a talented fighter..

I've always thought Taylor was a very good fighter. He isn't the smartest fighter, but he's physically strong and athletic.

You don't fight competitively against guys like Winky and Hopkins without being very good.

    I'm not writing him off!

I always thought he's a very good fighter, talent, athleticism, speed. I really like the guy and it was a shame to lose like that to Pavlik.

I am definitely looking forward to seeing him in action against Lacy, I'd love to see him have a great performance and then go for the top dogs @ 168. He's got the skills to do it, let's hope he fights a little smarter from now on, to go along with his undeniable talent. :bbb

Dude, I found out that these guys are actually good friends...this is going to look just like Rahman vs. Barrett, a real snoozer!!

    What a shame...this match-up had a lot of potential!!

I hope he does. He is a good man and has a lot of good attributes. I believe in a couple of fights he can be a force in the loaded 168 division. There are a lot of good fights to be made with Taylor at SMW.

Sure thing, I believe this too.

Do you remember how disapointed he was after the rematch with Pavlik? He was asked by Merchant about the fight and he was like "I don't know man, I really thought I would win this... I trained my ass off for this fight Larry... I worked everyday... I thought I was going to win it man...."

Ah, hope he comes back strong.

I think the real thread on the vbookie should be whether or not there are more than 10 punches thrown per round.

I wish we could see the other fights on the undercard between Cintron/Ndou and Witherspoon/Richards.
