Brandon Rios came out with a hell of a gameplan, was ready for anything, perfect jab came behind the jab cut off the ring, great inside fight and moved his head and upper body. He basically made Alvarado look like he did not belong in there with bam bam. Let me know what you think

I was really hoping for Alvarado to defy the odds, but his mind wasn't even on that ring tonight. I do agree that Rios came out swinging, as soon as he saw Alvarado simply looking at him, he went all over him.

Alvarado looked really bad but Rios also looked really good. He was using his jab nicely, taking angles, etc. Not sure if that was a product of him noticing Alvarado had nothing and then smelling blood or if it would've been a good performance regardless. He says it was a great camp and he listened to Garcia and I'm inclined to believe that until I see different.

There are so many fights he should be looking at now. As long as it isn't Crawford or Manny I'm down.

Yeah, I agree with this. It sounded like Rios came in more focused.

Personally id love to see Rios V Porter next, I think the styles would gel well and it would be a great tear up but Bob Arum likes his in house fights so that could be a problem

Ruslan Provodnikov would make for a great fight also if he were to move up in weight, Same goes for Lucas Matthysse.

I'm not gonna take anything away from Rios. He came in and did Rios by smashing Alvarado's unprepared butt. The fight was so lopsided that it wasn't a good look. There's nothing entertaining about watching a fighter take a beating like that. I was relieved the fight was stopped and Alvarado should be made to retire or be suspended for a year. That was pre-meditated irresponsibility on him and his team's part.

It looked like Alvarado's mind wasn't even in there. He knew damn well how to beat Rios by outboxing him, but instead instinctively goes toe to toe when Bam Bam closed tge distance. Alvarado's timing was also way off. He looked physically bigger than in the past, making me think perhaps he wanted to try to end it early and trained this time on power, but that's never a good idea against an iron jawed fighter. Nothing like the Alvarado from the Marquez fight. Just seemed to have no focus. Red colored eyes before the fight even started. But credit to Team Rios for bringing Bam Bams hunger back.

It has been one of his better performances even considering what was in front of him tonight, he looked sharper, hungier and just readier than normal.

Not an excuse because Mike was going to lose anyway, but he looked injured on his arrival (try to watch it), he had some trouble walking.

Not Rios fault, but lets be real, Mike Alvarado is completely shot, he had nothing at all coming into the fight. Everyone who saw some of his training videos allready knew this.

Rios was on a mission tonight to prove himself and even if Mike was 100% I still think he would have lost, but probably in 7 or 8 and not 3.

The heartening thing from Rios was the volume of shots. He did what you should do against a shot fighter and blew Alvarado away. That said, that's pretty much the only worthwhile takeaway from the fight on his end. He didn't have to work around any punches from Alvarado to get inside, didn't have to exert himself to cut the ring off much, didn't have many punches slipped, etc. He was basically fighting a punching bag.

    Bingo!
Even a featherfisted top 20 guy would have knocked Alvarado out before 6.

Rios did look good but without taking any credit from him Alvarado was terrible
