I've done it and I see it on boxing comments on sports sites and on here. They're boxers or fighters not bums. To give you a flip side: A boxer calls you a "bum" because you aren't as good in your particular field/ work as someone famous in a magazine or who has made it on tv. It wouldn't be right and neither is it right for any of us to call someone a bum for strapping on the leather and fighting, especially if neither of you (the boxer and worker) have done each other's job. God bless all
I agree, and don't use it myself, as I find it disrespectful to guys who are after all putting their health on the line. The use of the word in boxing has a long history however and I don't see it being eradicated anytime soon. Just do what you feel is right.
Agreed, calling good fighters bums is ****ing stupid. Anyone ranked top 20 in a division is not a bum. Same goes with all this stupid glass jaw talk, if a guy connects right a fighter is going down great chin or not. These keyboard warrior bellends here have never stepped in a ring.
Your opinion is not valid unless you have atleast stepped Between the ropes and given the sport a shot Trust me after just a few short rounds going easy you will grow respect for any fighter
When agreeing that bum calling is bad let's all be civil bros and sistas, we all boxing fans in the same community
It's like people calling Audley Harrison a bum, yes he's not the best boxer in the world but he's achieved more in boxing than 99% of us on here could ever dream of. Boxers deserve respect.
In all honesty this word is just a boxing term. Its been used for years. No one thinks these guys are bums. The have heart and real dedication to do what they do. I use the term bum when guys are fighting guys not on there level. It dont mean they are bums . Quit crying im still using it.
i have never called a fighter a bum and everytime i hear glass jaw thrown around i know the one saying has NEVER been in any kind of fight in there lives and probably throws a punch like a girl.
