I also agree with this. Boxing is a technical art. Guys who are amazing in every department could end up on the wrong side of an exchange. Show some respect

I agree. I never try to refer to warriors by such a disrespectful term. It's wrong for the sport. That said, this OP is a bum.

No boxer is a bum. All boxers lose or win against somebody who lost or won against somebody who lost or won against somebody who could have some great influence on boxing history, all boxers, good or not, had one kind of relevance or another. No boxers are bums, the true bums are the ones who calls boxers it.

You, tomsdubs, others have got it right.

However these words have been and will continue to be used among fight fans. Another overused term is "ducking". For practical, political, and business reasons a fighter can't fight every reasonable opponent within a short time span. Some clown just started a troll thread asking why the K bros get away with "ducking" each other :patsch

The real problem is that the terms bum and glass jaw are over used. A fighter might be just outside the top 10 and called a "bum" by a fan that just doesn't like that fighter. The past few days I've seen troll posters call B Stiverne & C Arreola bums :huh and Wlad a "joke" :nut By those definitions/standards those posters - and most of us here - are bums and jokes. But that doesn't seem to register w/these posters. It also makes such posters look like utter LOSERS. The word journeyman is better but I suppose it takes longer to type. For real weak fighters funny terms like cab driver, dish washer, etc are fine - they imply said weak fighter is just a part timer, fighting to make some extra cash.

Glass jaw is another overused term. If a fighter gets KOd or even KD a few too many times, even vs strong comp, why they have a "glass jaw" :-( Let me tell you something, as some here have already noted, most of us have glass jaws. You get hit right, you're going down, most likely for more than 10 seconds. Yeah, most of these posters have never been in a fight except in a video game :yep

Its all about levels in Boxing, i won't call a fighter a bum because it sound disrespectful IMO but if they aren't as good as other fighters i will sometimes call them B level, C level etc.

Bum ain't the same as **** though:lol:. ****'s much better than bum.

Bum implies that they're rubbish;- too crap to earn a living in the ring even.

**** implies someone's evil, unpleasant or has done summit to **** you off -at least it usually accords a modicum of respect even if negative. Bum's just dismissive, OTH.
