Don't write off Miguel Cotto folks!

  1. It seems to me that there are way too many people, Mayweather and Cotto fans alike, who are treating this fight as if the winner has already been determined! :nono

Floyd may be regarded as the fresher and more skilled of the 2, but if you are writing Miguel off, there are some things you may have failed to consider. I'd like to outline some of them for you right now:

    1. Mayweather is now 35 years old, Cotto is 31. Yes, Cotto has taken far more punishment in his career, but the fact that Mayweather is now on the back end of his 30's can not be ignored. The right combination of a perfect Cotto training camp and an aging Mayweather could make for a huge surprise.

    2. Mayweather will be fighting at 154 pounds for only the second time, and the first time since winning a close SD vs. a 34 year old Oscar De La Hoya in 2007. Cotto has shown himself to be quite comfortable at 154, albeit against considerably less apt competition not named Mayweather.

    3. Although outside-the-ring distractions have probably been mentioned as a possible detriment to Floyd's performance ahead of each of his fights for the past 4 years (he's still undefeated)... This time just may be a little different. Consider that he faces real, actual, guaranteed jail time after this fight with Cotto.

Now, I can still picture Floyd doing what he does best and overcoming these "obstacles." But to dismiss that these little things could add up to history may be a huge mistake. Just sayin.

I feel like floyd can lose, it just takes that one punch, and the only thing that could really be vanishing is he reflexes, but they looked good in the ortiz fight, and the recent sparring videos.

I wouldn't write cotto off, but I'd be 90% confident of a Floyd win against anyone around 147-154

    Too long didn't read...

All I know is, them fast straight shots & jabs will make cotto's face swell

    he will lose heart

    and lose by slow decision

overall not as exciting as everybody thinks..

On the otherhand we will have Pacquiao KO'ing Bradley :d

  9. I don't agree with this assessment. Mayorga and Margarito were shot to **** but he did what he was supposed to do with both of em. :deal

hmmmn, remember Douglas v Tyson, Duran v Leonard 1, Rahman v Lewis... stranger things have happened, and I reckon that this Diaz fella has got something about him that will surprise Mayweather...

Okay so Cotto's last 3 opponents were washed up fighters according to the masses? Well what about Mayweathers last 3 opponents? :think

Not too impressive on either side if you ask me?
