Clutching at straws "mayweather might grow old over night" "mayweather might be worrying about prison"

I perfer to look at the two skillsets and fact is Cotto has nothing to offer mayweather, nothing.

  2. A fighter "growing old overnight" isn't grasping.. that really happens in boxing. It's gonna happen to Floyd. The question is "When?" and I don't think its an unreasonable thing to be considering going into the Cotto fight.

And I noticed you didn't mention anything about the weight class.. :think

Sergio Martinez would get in Floyds ass! In fact he would dominate... It would be similar to when the milk man conquered your momma on the kitchen floor... You remember that?

I hope you are right. As a longtime Cotto fan I know he needs a perfect storm to win on May 5th, but I have seen bigger odds overcome during my lifetime as a boxing fan.

Writing him off. No way someone Pac dominated and Margarito destroyed and Clotty fought close to a draw can beat Mayweather. No way no how.

  6. Did you write off Buster Douglas too?

Yup I did, I was only 12 years old at the time though. This is different then that imo.

  9. Well I was 10 and I was glued to HBO and rooting for Douglas to knock that look off Tyson's face.

And of course it's different. But the odds aren't nearly as long either!
    40-1 vs. 6-1 :deal

Well its an unfortunate situation when you think about it, Cotto is just cursed fighting in the same wheel house with two legit ATG. IF Pac and Floyd did not exist or did not fight in or around Cotto's weight class Cotto would have easily cemented his own legacy. Despite some of the trash being thrown around on these boards Cotto is actually a great fighter with above average skills and excellent technical execution. He's had some great fights that have portrayed heart, power, skill, speed, determination and yes even a solid chin. I would'nt expect all to agree with me but those who know the fight game well and have fought in the past can attest to my statement. Either way he is most likely losing on May 5th but he'll showcase his ability for sure.

I see it differently. I think the timing is right for the fight and that he's posses the same skills he's had before, with an underrated trainer who's gonna suprise a lot of people and make him even better than he was before to get the upset. We'll see though.

I really like Cotto, so I hope he is competitive. But Floyd will just be too quick, accurate, too skilful. I also think Floyd will try to make a statement and get "one up" on Pac by stopping him earlier than he did.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with what you said, but let's face it Tyson was (mentally) on the slide around that fight, not training properly and (allegedly) taking drugs and smashing his way through smoking hot Japanese chicks.

Mayweather isn't anything close to this.

    (no Floyd freak)
    (No Pac freak)

But you forgot something. He's training hard like he always does but so is Cotto. The main thing it's gonna come down to is stragey and Cotto's trainer(who I think is a lot better than what people know until May 5th the truth will come out) puts together a better stragey and Floyd is still doing the samethings(even if he's in shape) it could backfire because the other fighter has a solid plan A, B, and C and excutes it the right right, that would be all it takes. Floyd can do different things in the ring but he's never faced someone yet who put him in a situation where he has to keep adapting and work hard to get a victory. Just saying because anybody can be beat on any givin night. Floyd is one of the best but he's human.

    I agree with what you've written.:good

I still say Floyd, but your last sentence speaks volumes. Nice one, buddy.
