    Mexicans typically have iron jaws

    Brits typically have iron jaws

    Argentines typically have iron jaws

    Ghanaians typically have iron jaws

Japanese and Koreans typically have iron jaws

    Cubans all have glass jaws

Americans all have glass jaws (with the exception of Floridians who typically have iron jaws)

It is what it is, it is what it isn't :chuck:

I'm sure a lot of street fighters in Cuba (especially among those who are black) have very strong chins. But (for some reason) they don't do well as Cuban amateurish boxers. Rather those guys are not considered good enough to represent Cuban boxing. I guess boxers with long arms and those who can run a lot get the privilege. And there's only one (monopolistic) system of boxing in Cuba (so all their boxers are somehow similar as a result). Then all those boxers come into (American) professional boxing and they suffer from having a weak chin. And people make erroneous conclusions that all Cubans have weak chins.

Not ''weak'', glass. Hence ''Cuban glass''

Street fights = bare fist, and when bare fists meet Cuban Glass the results are invariably catastrophic.

Haven't you thought by the way that all Mexicans having iron jaws is also Survivorship bias (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivorship_bias)? Maybe it's just because Mexico as a country doesn't care much about boxing (like USSR or Cuba cared), so only those street-fighter style guys do well in their system of boxing? Partly it's also because Mexican fans prefer that kind of boxing.
So, again only those type of boxers ("brawlers"/pressure fighters) "survive" there, then they come to the US and peoples say "Oh, all Mexicans have iron jaws".

No I haven't. All Mexicans have iron jaws. Glass-jawed Mexican is an oxymoron

Dorticos seems like a though dude and it wasn't that bad of a beating. In the end it was due to exhaustion.
    Thats by 2 cents.

Well, I can't argue with this, because I haven't punched a Mexican yet. :) And I do believe in genetics, and racial differences.
But, again, those black Cuban boxers are genetically the same as any other African boxers.

Except they were born on the island of Cuba, my friend, which for some unknown reason turns their jaws into glass. ;)

I'm a Brit so obviously I have a cast-iron mandible but the thought of me or any of my loved ones possessing a glass jaw absolutely fills me with disgust. I'd rather be born deaf, dumb and blind than have a glass jaw. :D

It just can't be so, because those 500 years (or so) is not enough to change human genetics.

A 2 week long holiday in Cuba can reduce your punch resistance by 1%.

Dorticos took a beating, so he needs to rest take an easy fight, then come back, he very well might not be the same...................after Gassiev knocked him out..........................Taylor was never the same after Chavez beat him the first time, much less the second time...............

Librado Andrade had a cast iron chin until Bute cracked it; nothing was the same thereafter, and he never was able to be successful using another boxing style.

    The same will happen here.

Both Dorticos and Andrade, bruisers engaging into shootouts and attrition wars, hoping to brake their opponent's will, cannot be the same after having their own chins cracked good.

Applying the same pressure and engaging in the usual give and take wars won't come easy anymore.

What kind of new style is he going to implement and be good at it?
Is he going to become a cutie all of a sudden?

Sorry, but the bodyshot came after the first KD, a left hook to the jaw.
After that he was softened enough to be stopped by bodyshot.

Dorticos lack of punch variety and lack of ring IQ, were his undoing. Any future opponent would be wise to come forward behind a high guard and work him on the inside. It was cringe worthy watching him throw the same right hand into Gassiev's glove over and over again, without any variation of attack. Boxing from the outside on his toes would have been a better plan of action.
