I would say Dorticos - Gassiev is a 50-50 fight. But even if Dorticos beats Gassiev, Usyk will school him. Dorticos' footwork is not very good and Usyk is the type of fighter that can exploit that flaw.

If he stays in the pocket and Exchange like he did against Kudra, he's likely to be put to sleep. But if he boxes of the backfoot and uses movement, I think he can beat Gassiev.

    That's a brutal fight.

Whoever emerges to make the finals will know they were in a fight

Agreed. Then I think Usyk will beat him very convincingly. Usyk is levels above the rest.

Easier said than done against that absolute wrecking machine. Lebedev is a mobile-boxer puncher and he couldn't get the job done, but Dorticos has some size that Lebedev lacks to make up for his slower movement. Great fight though!

I'm not sure if Gassiev can walk through Dorticos' punches like he did against Lebedev, which is what he might have to do given he didn't look so great at cutting of the ring.

I hope Gasiyev will pass easily Wlodarczyk, and I look forward to the big fight of Gassiev-Dortikos. Gassiev has a concrete chin, punch, block, and he can keep a high pace for 12 rounds.

I remember not liking that fight for Gassiev when it was originally slated to happen. That was a couple of years ago but Dorticos pulled out for some reason (no idea why). Gassiev was only 21 at the time and he didn't start boxing until he was 15 years old and he only had a very brief amateur career (30 fights) whereas Dorticos obviously came up through the Cuban system and had a very extensive amateur career (257 fights). Gassiev has a bit more experience now and I'd pick him with confidence to knock out both Kudryashov and Kalenga. That said, I still feel Dorticos is a tough match up for him. It would be a tough match up for both of them. Dorticos has got really long arms and he gets very good leverage on that right hand of his. He's got an 80'' reach whereas most of the top CWs are around the 74-77'' mark.

    Gassiev 76''
    Glowacki 75''
    Lebedev's is only 71½''
    Makabu 74''
    Kudryashov 75''
    Huck 77''
    Kalenga 74''
    Duradola 77½
    Wlodarczyk 75''
    Bellew 74''
Michael Hunter has a very long reach too 79½''

It says Briedis has an 80'' reach on his Wiki page, if true, I find that really surprising.

    So does Keith Tapia

    Usyk's is 78''

But Steve Cunningham takes 1st prize with a freakishly long 82''
