Shut the surging Rothwell out with a very educated striking performance. Did well jabbing to the body, staying out of Rothwells range, and angling off the cage whenever Rothwell backed him into it. He set a UFC record with 93 significant strikes to the body(in any division not just HW) Also broke the HW record record for significant strikes landed in a fight with 157, outlanded Rothwell by a considerable margin in every round, and by nearly 100 strikes overall. Safe to say he has a lot more left in the tank than most of us expected.
I was astonished by how well he performed against a quality fighter in Rothwell. His speed, timing and reflexes were better than they've been in years. His stamina was also the best I've ever seen it. This was a guy who looked completely shot2**** against miocic and overroid.
