All other things being equal, styles make fights.

From my limited experince following the sport, i would definitely say that styles make fights.

Styles make fights of course. Judah knocked out Spinks and Taylor IMO lost a fight with Spinks on points. Judah-Taylor would be a mismatch though taking into acount the size difference.

Taylor's style was a nightmare for Hopkins too. We all know Hopkins is the better fighter but yet Taylor had the tools to throw Hopkins off-kilter enough to eek out decisions.

styles makes fights but there are sometimes that it could be exceptional and the better man would win. (i.e someone is getting outboxed through the whole fight and then he KO's the winning guy)

Depends on the disparity of the talent.

If the talent is equal, styles generaly make fights.

If one fighter is superior than the other, he can overcome stylistic issues.

But, there are always other factors at play, like heart, willingness, chin, preperation, conditioning... there are no tried and true equations in boxing.

    Cant both be correct???

Was Douglas the better man vs Tyson or did his style (along with Mike's terrible training camp) ALLOW him to be the better man for that night???

The cliché stylistic advantages rarely work out right.

Massive stylistic advantages exist, not always the ones the textbooks predict.

Wrong. Styles DO make fights...tho skill level will always play a bigger part in it.

I just said that styles make fights.

Just not the styles people expect a lot of the time.

It is part of the equation. Styles make fights, and talent has a place in the equation as well.

Also, application of styles is very important.

    Definitely styles...and luck.
Anything can happen in a fight.
    Look at Tyson-Douglas.
Had the fight been a month before, total different outcome.
