Apart from jab, slip, jab, slip, jab, slip, jab righthand jab, slip, and things of that ilk, I don't know how exactly one would work the double end bag effectively. Please help.
You don't need drills, just hit it normally. Get your state of mind into fight mode and your off and away. Practice anything and everything. Then when you reach Shane Mosley level, you can get the two ball one, which means you are working the body too!
Yep! Uppercut, left hook, right hand. 1,2,3. Anything and everything. Go on youtube and search Roy Jones training. There is one clip where he hits the double end bag and it's probably the fastest I've ever seen. It's unbelievable.
Is it this one? The last 30-odd seconds are well worth watching. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbRykf-5Zo8
People need to stop concentrating on speed, power etc Concentrate on skill, technique, using your smarts etc If you are working on skill and refining your technique then automatically your speed, strength, power, reflexes etc get nurtured and improved.
That's quality advice IMO. I think I'll buy a double end bag as well, for in the garage. I can't hang a bag there, it would take the place apart.
nice vids from both. achilles you heard or seen the hand weights from everlast? the ones that your first two fingers go into and they strap around the wrist. picked up a pair to shadow box wit and was wondering if you heard anything about them.
I'm not particularly sure which ones you are talking about. Any sort of extra strain or pressure or any part of the body is good. As long as it is within reason, your body will adapt and become a better machine. I'd recommend resistance bands. See Hussein Hussein use them in the Title training video with Jeff Fenech.
Practice hooks and uppercuts on it as well to improve accuracy. Much easier to hit with straight punches, but hooks and the like will really test you.
