Basically, this thing is kicking my ass. Even just standing in front of it stationary and trying to land clean punches is frustrating the hell out of me. Right now I mainly just practice double jabs and slips. When I throw my right hand though, I find it landing on the bag with a major bend in my elbow (punch is far from locked out). The fact that it looks ******ed aside, I'm sure it means my timing and range is wrong too. And I think I'm somewhat hesitant to punch through the target for fear of losing my timing b/c the ball moves so much. I guess I don't really have any specific questions. Maybe you guys could just give me some general tips for working the DE bag?
floor to ceilings are mainly for hand eye coordination.start off by hitting with small/light left rights to get a rhythm once youve got that step back hit harder so now your punching all the way out then start to move into your combination/head movement ect..my favourite combo is dubble jab..right..left hook..right..left upper cut..right.
I'm ahead of you, but behind Gilly. I've been working on the DEB for about 2 months, and there are certainly times where it catches me. Of course the larger the bag, the slower it will be and the harder you have to hit it to move it. This also means the harder it hits back! I started like you, and have just moved up to triple jab, right, dodge left, lead upper cut, lead hook. One thing that helps is that I hung one in my basement to practice! Its fun, and a challenge. It also helps me look better in the gym with my coach.
