Hi, I originally posted this in the equipment forum, but I probably should have just created a new thread. So I'm going to do that now... Has anyone here ever used a double end bag anchor? I'm thinking about getting a double end bag, but I'm in an apartment where I don't want to drill into the wall or floor (ceiling is fine, though). I would be grateful if anyone could share their experiences with these anchors. Thanks.
i've never used one but ive seen a few videos on youtube where people have used a big weight plate. probably about 25 kg. seems to work fine for them
I can help you out here. Not wanting to destroy my floor, I bought the following items: 1. An eye screw into a stud in the ceiling. Got this from the hardware store for $2.00 This content is protected 2. One of these. Got this from the hardware store for $5.00. NOTE: Make sure the metal hoop fits through the hole in the weight plate enough for your bungee cord to attach. This content is protected 3. a 45 lb weight with a hole for an Olympic sized bar NOTE: If you get a plate with handles, you could also use it to workout with either on a bench, in your hands for curls or on your chest for situps. Just a thought. This content is protected When you are done, it should look something like this: This content is protected
Why not get a double end bag anchor? This is the one I've got at home. http://store.titleboxing.com/ba-s.html Not only does it look better than a 25lb plate, it's cheaper, and smaller (to prevent your lead foot from landing on it when you step in with the jab). I hit up my local playground at midnight and grapped 2 large buckets of sand to fill this thing up. Works beautifully.
How long has it held up for? I got one of those (everlast atsch) and It wasn't too long before the metal ring ripped right through the weakass seatbelt material . ie my anchor is now totally worthless and unfixable.
