Mike Tyson bit Holyfield after a career fighting bigger men, a brutal beating by douglas where he went down swinging, 2 wars with Ruddock, 3 years in prison and another brutal beating in the 1st Holyfield fight, therefore he was always a mentally weak bully who folded in any tough fight.

George Foreman was indestructible before Zaire but after he basically just gassed out and lost his title without taking too much punishment, he was nowhere near the same fighter. All the weaknesses shown against Lyle and Young, the obvious low confidence and the signs of psychological fragility in the Freakshow with the 5 guys, all of that doesnt count.

NEWSFLASH!!! Peoples personality traits can change for the positive or the negative over time depending on your environment, which experiences you make and every man has a breaking point. Look at Erik Morales and julio cesar chavez, warriors for most of their career. Finally quit at some point.

Bert cooper and george foreman were the other way around.

You have a point, quiting or showing weakness one time shouldn't be a death sentence. There are fighters like Duran and Cotto who quit one time in their career and then never quit again. Also there is some like Lennox Lewis and and Wlad Klitschko who both were blown out and stopped early at times in their careers and ended up becoming better fighters down the line. People change over time, but sometimes they are judged for a few seconds in history.

I think it's more about the times we live in. In my opinion it seems you get to see how great a fighter is after a devastating loss. True champions come back stronger than ever, while mediocre fighter stagnate.

Foreman's grill is darn tootin' useful, though.

What is this thread about, again?

That guy still making money from that grill? I heard he wasn’t even the first choice to endorse it. Whoever it was that passed up on that opportunity must be still kicking the **** out of himself today.

Maybe the Grill business is the source of the 'Double Standard' claim...

George Promoted a "Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine" but was 260lbs in his last fight. The cheek of it.

Can't think of anyone I disliked so much many years ago who I now have grown very fond of.
