I dont expect Cotto to slow down or even tire in this fight. What he showed against Margo in the 2nd fight was an incredible amount of strength and stamina. With Mayweather, Cotto should be able to fight at a more comfortable pace.

Or option 3, he could turn up in the best shape of his career :think

Physically, he could turn up in the best shape of his career. Mentally, he seems to be in a very good place right now.

So no, it's not desperate to claim that he could turn up in great shape, from a great training camp on May 5th.

Margarito turned up in the best shape of his career against Pacquiao after taking a great deal of punishment against Cotto, then being knocked out by Mosley, a year or so ban, and one tune up. :deal

Cotto would never have beaten PBF, and he never will either.
Cotto is a better boxer than say Hatton, but who ever outboxes Mayweather, so trying to do anything other than bring intense pressure is suicide.

Once he starts getting hit, often and hard, his changes of trainer will IMO prove of no benefit to him, as he'll either revert back to what he always did, walk straight forward and drop his hands aiming for the Mayweather torso, again suicide, or get caught between his two styles, and do very little.

He's going to get mullered, but its a big earner. He's taken this fight in a no lose situation, if he loses badly, well did anyone expect him to win(?), and he'll wind down towards retirement. Cotto type fighters will never be known for extended careers, and if he does reasonably well, people will want to see him again, and if blue snow falls and he wins, then mega fight rematch with Pac.

I cant see anything other than a very wide Mayweather points win.

Being in shape is awesome, but theres more to a fighter then his physical conditioning.

I have no doubt Cotto will come to the ring looking in good shape, he always is for his big fights.

But that doesnt mean his fluidity, sharpness, and ability are going to be the same as they were 5 years ago.

Mentally no Cotto is better then the Pre Margarito one. But if I had to choose which cotto is better post Margarito is the one now.

Hit hard enough to repeatedly rock Mosely and DLH. He also regularly beats up middleweights in sparring.
    Please try harder!

I sat in press row right behind Fisher and Kim at a fight once have to day the dude is arrogant and annoying. Saying that Cotto has more of a chance now is ridiculous as he is nowhere near the fighter he used to be.

physically he is diminished. his hand and foot speed post-margarito 1 is atrocious. also, he isn't able to see certain shots now.
