"When fans and boxing writers say Mayweather and Pacquiao are hands down the two best fighters of the last 20-25 years, I roll my eyes. Whitaker and Chavez were in their pound-for-pound primes in the late 1980s and early 1990s if memory serves me right."

Not bad choices in Chavez and Whitaker however, the best 2 fighters of the last 20 years are:

Roy Jones Jr. and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

No doubt about it! Dougie is a geek!!

Sorry, as annoying as he can be, Mayweather is better than both JCC (much, much better) and Whitaker (better offense).

I would pick RJJ and Pacquiao. I think Pacquiao takes both JCC and Sweet Pea.

Pac's too fast for JCC, and his footwork leads him to a SD win over my boy Pernell.

    Why RJJ and FMJ?

*The 2 most dominant fighters (example: only 2 fighters to never be hit in an entire round)
    * Combined they ran the p4p list for the last 15 years.
    * Exhibit the kind of boxing and athletic ability that makes peers look ordinary.

RJJ record: 1st to go from Middleweight to Heavyweight and win a title then drop back down to light heavyweight and reclaim his titles.

Floyd: Unbeaten, performs best against the best, technically superior to anyone over the last 20 years.

RJJ= best offensive fighter of the last 20 years

FLoyd= best defensive fighter of the last 20 years

Whitaker had much better offensive skills than Floyd, just no power.

That was what his face looked like after he witnessed Zahir Raheem, who tried to modle himself after Sweet Pea, do a job.

Disagree, but hell, they're both great fighters. Agree to disagree.

You trying to compare ****ing Zahir Raheem to Whitaker?

    No comparison, none.

And BTW, Pac would KO the **** out of Raheem.

I cant really put floyd in there because hes not exciting. He's undefeated yes, but still. Roy puts on a show n punishes his opponents. He aint scared to trade and take chances. Roy beat bhop and a prime toney.

Whitaker made JCC look like a damn fool. I don't know if Mayweather does that.

    We're splitting hairs either way.

I'd say Whitaker, Floyd, RJJ and Pac are the 4 best fighters in that timespan. I don't think JCC is in quite the same class, though he is rated quite highly on ATG lists, maybe because he fought 900 times.
