I just found out. For those who don't know who Jones was, he was a 2-time world light heavyweight and heavyweight challenger, having challenged Harold Johnson at light heavyweight and having challenged Ernie Terell at heavyweigt, with both fights ending as decision losses for Jones, Jones is also known for giving Muhammad Ali (then Cassius Clay) a very tought fight with the Ring Magazine naming it 1963 fight of the year. From 1956-66 there were a lot of solid fighters just below the level of Ali and Liston. Ingo, Floyd, Machen, Folley, Johnson, Jones, Chuvalo, Williams, Terrell, Cooper, Mildenberg, anybody care to rate them?
The 60's guys did quite well v's the more famous 70's era. Folley-Bonavena, Machen-Quarry, Cooper-Bugner, Chuvalo-Quarry, Terrell-Garcia, Jones-Kirkman, Patterson-Bonavena and so on.
