    First few albums were great.

And he did not require any set-ups, pushovers, carrying or advantageous matchmaking.

Doug Jones did 'Look Sharp' Seamus

The bigger Pete Rademacher got off to a good start in Round 1, as he was
able to score with some good straight left hands to the New Yorkers chin.

Doug Jones showed off his quickness in Round 2, as he moved 'like the wind',
jabbing and moving while baffling the slower Rademacher. Jones landed a
wicked left hook under-neath, making Rademacher whince in pain.

Rademacher got the range in Round 3, as he was able to land several good left
hands, and some long-range right hands that shook Doug Jones.

Doug Jones went back to jabbing and moving in Round 4, and took control.
Late in the Round, Jones crashed a beautiful chopping right hand off of Rademacher's
chin, that dropped Pete for an 8-Count.

Rademacher got up, and made a brief rally, before getting nailed by another
Doug Jones hard right hand. Rademacher crashed again for an 8-Count.

Pete hung on for the last few seconds, and made it through Round 4.

Doug Jones wasted no time, and in the early portion of round 5, sent a
flurry of punches upon Rademacher's head, dropping him for a 'third-time'.

Rademacher got up on unsteady legs at the 9-Count. Doug Jones attacked,
and sent several right hands onto Rademacher's head, before landing another
chopping right hand sending Rademacher crashing, where Referee Harry Kessler
waved the bout over at 0:54 of Round 5.

    Doug Jones, a Star.

'The most exciting new boxer out there. Complete with style, speed and flash.
This new sensation just fits the headline for a new Light-Heavywweight Champion.'

'His complete destruction of former Olympic Gold Medal Heavyweight Champion,
Pete Rademacher, was not only impressive, but dominant. Look out for this star.'

So, I suppose The Verdict is that he was really Steppin' Out. After the Clay fiasco, Jones wanted a rematch. One More Time, he kept saying.

    John Maff,,,,,,

I'm not criticizing Cassius Clay,,,,,,,only painting a more clear picture.

By the way, did you know that Pete Rademacher wasn't only in New York in April 1961
    to fight Doug Jones.

He was also there, to have a 'sit down' meeting with Sonny Liston.

Pete and his wife wanted to take over Sonny Liston's career as his Manager.

Painting a picture??? More like painting the Sistine chapel by numbers :)

i did not know that. Surely he would have been aware of sonny's connections?

Do you think he was trying to get in the door knowing Liston was gonna get the patterson fight sooner or later and that, having floored Floyd himself, strongly fancied Sonny?

Id imagine so myself. Did the negotiations get anywhere?
