Did Buster Douglas receive a long count in the Tyson match?

Not really. I think the counts at the referees discretion. It might have been long but douglas has to go by the referees count. He actually stayed down to recuperate more waiting on the refs count. I m pretty sure tyson himself also got a long count in that fight.

Yes, but if referee counted quicker, Douglas would get up quicker, too. He was clear-minded when he looked at referee's count.

I don't know. I don't think anyone has ever done a proper survey of how long an "average" 8-9 count is.
Yes, it's supposed to be seconds, but I suspect slow/long counting is more common.

Yes, it was a long count. Meyran botched the whole thing. Buster got up at 9 3/4 and Meyran forgets to wipe off the gloves and ask if he's ok. Instead he looked at Douglas and continued the match like the incompetent fool he was.
