No one who really understands boxing picked Douglas ! Whoever even went a step further and posted it .......:loel:

Did we forget Tyson fought better fighters and won after the loss? Douglas ran to Holyfield knowing full well he wasn't going to win ...Tyson wouldn't have even needed a corner for that one because it wasn't going to get past 3 rounds ( being generous)! Yes ANYTHING can happen in boxing but the odds of another win over Tyson would be so highly unlikley that a better chance of a parachute guy landing in the ring would be a better bet of happening! If Douglas had to beat on Tyson for 10 rounds and then would have a fraction of those punches (if that he probably wouldnt have even landed many) in a rematch because Tyson wont be coasting...well do the math.

Like I said if Douglas did not have distractions after the fight, and would of had the same motivation. Of course he could beat him again, he had just schooled Tyson once. At least the other people were reasonable. You sound like a weird fanboy.

No i sound like a realist who wouldn't dare make such a claim of ignorance,it would be a complete mismatch and if you cant see that( obviously you cant ,you made the thread) well better you than me.

What we're all looking at here, is a lot of big "IFs"

If both guys were fully focused, and they'd have fought to their full capabilities, I would had to have favoured Mike. But saying that it would have been a complete mismatch is an exaggeration.

How is it a mismatch, and how is it ignorant? Douglas had just schooled Tyson in the first fight, nobody denies that. I understand if you could come up with an explanation why Tyson would beat Douglas in a rematch, but saying it is a mismatch and ignorant to imply otherwise, is wild fanboy talk, when Douglas just schooled Tyson the first time around.

with no regard for the aftermath. I actually think he did not care if he died that day in part. The man who is willing to die for that inch is going to win that inch, as Pacino said in that football movie.

Exactly saying it is a mismatch when Douglas beat Tyson clearly in the first fight is foolish.

Theres not MANY what ifs to think about , the only what if one has to think about is what if it goes past 4 rnds instead of one. Anyone who cant figure out why must be new to boxing or never seen many Tyson fights or how he fought AFTER that fight and the types of guys he excelled against.

sure Douglas would win ...SURE! I cant think of a more mismatch for a championship fight in recent memory....Joshua/Martin come to mind! :headbash

    Yeah. That's what I believe.

    Great post.

I think Evander was a great fighter. But I think James was there for the taking that night.

You're far too emotional to have a proper debate with.

There's no reason it couldn't have gone past 4.

Douglas outclassed and knocked out Tyson. The only way you could say the rematch is a mismatch is if you are a fanboy. It's not like Tyson knocked out every opponent before, or after.

The only way you cant see why it would be a even BIGGER odds he doesn't do it again, shows you just started watching boxing ,that or you are fully void /oblivious to skill levels in boxing.Im done here the thread topic is idiotic in suggesting Tyson loses against a CLEARLY over matched opponent and no one on here can tell me otherwise, because then i would have to play a fool and stop and listen, douglas would literally have a 5% chance of winning.

Douglas favored over Tyson AFTER a LONG drawn out win of continuos punching for 10 rounds.? huh....you dont even know that Tyson went through BETTER guys AFTER that fight..THINK about that for a second!:pancarta:
