I'm not convinced you have been watching boxing long yourself going by your previous posts. You make out Douglas barely beat Tyson. Douglas outclassed Tyson and stopped him, saying it is a mismatch is just plain stupid.

He hasn't favoured Douglas. He's only arguing that it wouldn't have been a complete mismatch.

Douglas had ability. He just couldn't hold it together like many other HW's of the 80's.

The version of Douglas who showed up in Tokyo would have been a handful for a lot of guys.

I'm a huge fan of Mike's. But who did he beat afterwards who was better than that version of Douglas?

Razor Ruddock? That 240 pound PUNCHER for one. Dont tell me Douglas poses more of a threat than him bc then you really dont know what you are talking about bc if Tyson haden in the same shape against someone who was much stronger than Douglas ,Tyson wouldn't have made it to 10 rnds.

You wont beat Tyson unless you can at least hurt him ,anyone who knows boxing knows why Tyson lost to Douglas its not a secret. Arguably Bruno would also pose more danger...didnt Tyson crush him too? What do you think would happen not if but when Tyson goes in on him and TRIES to end the fight early? A knock out happens and FAST.

Douglas being a handful for alot of guys isnt anything about a rematch here...Tyson WASN'T alot of guys last time i checked certainly not when motivated. The poll shows at least 2 things ppl are just playing or dont actually know boxing as well as they thought.....pick one!

Ruddock posed a different kind of threat.

Bruno wasn't more of a threat as he was intimidated.

You've made a bold statement, but only really named one guy.

Although Mike wasn't at his best, the version of James who showed up in Tokyo was a very good HW.

Whilst I agree that Mike would have beaten him in a rematch, I think it's silly to assume that James would have had no chance whatsoever.

I don't think Douglas could put up the same type of performance he had in the first fight against a more prepared and focused Tyson second time around. I think he would go some rounds, but ultimately Tyson would put him down, and he'd stay down THIS time. Tyson by KO in the late rounds.

I didn't rate Mike much in either of the Ruddoch fights, was that the 'focused' Mike? Douglas blew away the aura, the same Douglas has a great chance, the fat doughnut that showed up vs Holyfield get's ko'd just as quick.

Razor Ruddoch would have been hell for anybody. He was no chump, so Mike struggling a bit with him wasn't surprising to me.

Douglas would beat him again, and Tysons fans would find some more excuses.

Did Buster Douglas ever show up in great shape 2 fights in a row?

He had a good stretch between being beaten by Tucker to his Tyson fight.

Maybe if he had a rematch scheduled with Tyson he wouldn't have lost all motivation? And remember he was very sick when he fought Tyson, so as great as he was that night, he could have been even better.
