Down Under Boxing Info

I've read Horndog's book, btw, for anyone contemplating buying it.

It's a good read. It's written in the same style as Grantlee Kieza's book on Jeff Fenech many years ago (although told in the first person by Horndog).

It goes through Horndog's career (amateur & pro) in chronological order and for someone like me who wasn't familiar with it, it was very interesting.

He got to the quarter finals of the London Olympics as an amateur after only four years in the sport & of course has knocked over Manny inside of 20 pro fights so he's done outstandingly well.

Plenty of good insights & anecdotes about various figures in Australian boxing which reflect Kieza's as well as Horndog's views.

Lots of interesting stuff about Manny's background as well.

It says a lot about your knowledge of Australian boxing or lack thereof if you want to try say Australia has anywhere close to the issues or corruption in America. Even if you regurgitate all of Midnight Prowlers conspiracy theories about Australian boxing you still wont come close to the issues that boxing has had over there

 

Horny can't get a crowd in Australia unless he fights Pac (again), PBF or possibly Mundine. He'll have to fight guys like Crawford and co in Vegas. No one in their right mind fights in Australia unless they get paid massive overs

Damn even if Jeff gets past Crawford unless he's absolutely dominant or KO's Bud he won't get past the judges. Hope he's getting decent money and a rematch clause not in US.

 

Oh and carry over points and cuddling up to IBO officials etc. But if Ward-Kovalev 1 and 2 are a guide Jeff is up against it.

That's true but Jeff Horn is not Mundine or Green and can't buy wins,rankings or officials. Look at round 10 of Ward-Kovalev 1.

Every judge scored that to Ward who won 114-113 on all 3 judges cards. Jeff is going to have to knock Bud out or win so convincingly they can't rob him. I just hope whatever way it goes it's not dodgy even if my guy get's done.

 

Lol there is a difference to being the only people posting there because of the endless negative posts and you believing you were keeping it alive by being the only ones interested in posting in the cesspool it became. Actually i don't post a lot these days as my expertise is needed on the stock market during the week where I'm killing it on lithium stocks...... now theres a tip for free....... by 2030 the majority of the world will be driving electric cars

 

I appreciate your tips but I have been doing quite well myself in the stock market not to mention what Ive made getting in at the start of the crypto currency boom

 

Mate the whole sport is bent as a butchers hook what with all the ped abuse etc personally I can't fault Horn and wish him luck in the states but when it goes the way of the away fighter having to knock the home fighter out twice to get a draw I will stop watching all together, In a few years stiffs I will be able to say I've been watching boxing for 50 years but I can tell you this mate at this moment in time my interest for the sport is at an all time low .
