I would give Browne a good shot at knocking Whyte out. Whyte IMO is the most overrated heavyweight going round. He is famous for landing one good punch on AJ and going life and death with Chisora whose best days are behind him.

He looks to have talent I doubt he will get a title shot next year but if he takes a few more step up fights somebody like Crolla would be a good test but I doubt Crolla would fight him as GKJ is not a big enough name and Crolla might see him as to much of a risk.

Probably better going the U.S route then. Getting quality sparring and hopefully get on some undercards and wow the crowds and get noticed.

The proof will be in the pudding, Mrs Stifler.

I rated Paul Fleming very highly many years ago.

I haven't seen him fight since (other than a highlight reel kayo a few weeks back).

The guy he's up against is fight active & has never been stopped.

I used to think the reason Fleming never got the opportunities to progress was b/c while he was a good technician, perhaps he wasn't exciting enough in terms of going for the kayo.

Let's see if he can get one against a guy who has never been stopped.

    Agree with this.

One thing Whyte flag does have in his favour is that he's been active.

It's easy to lampoon a guy for making hard work of it against an over-matched foe, but it's better to struggle & win than not to fight at all. Which is what Big Daddy has been doing (not fighting at all, that is).

Big Daddy would be up against two opponents if he took the fight - Whyte flag & inactivity.

There's certainly some incentive for him to take the fight if offered - it's a payday (albeit presumably a modest one), it's excellent exposure (everyone will be watching) & Whyte flag is ranked #1 in the WBC (so it would set up other fights if he pulled off a win).

I agree about the activity Browne shoulld of at least stayed active against some bums in Australia. Browne would have to clap Whyte before round 6 before his inactivity becomes a factor otherwise Whyte might coast to a UD or late stoppage.

Super Hooper definitely has major talent. Back in the lead-up to the London Olympics, he was the second ranked amateur light heavy in the world & won several of the lead-in tournaments. He's one of the few amateurs (the only?) we've had who didn't have to qualify for the Olympics through the Oceania championships.

While he didn't medal, he did beat the Yankee Doodle Dandy first up which is always a tough assignment.

Let's hope he stays focused & gets the fights needed to progress his career.

It would have been interesting to see Hoops relocate to the States or UK early in his pro days and see how he went with the tougher training, sparring and away from the backslappers telling him he can do no wrong. Defintely a very promising natural talent and still is to a degree. With his height and ultra long arms, and fluid style.
But maybe tough for a young indigenous boy to be so far away from his family.

I've watched a lot of amateur boxing the last 20 years and I have lost count of how many young talented indigenous boxers who have wasted there talents and I just hope Hooper has the right people around him to continue on to bigger thing on the world stage.

I remember there was a little craze of videos getting uploaded of "the next big thing". Real young japanese kids showing incredible speed and skill for their age.

And I was thinking like I've seen that before with real young Aboriginal kids absolutely killing it on the pads and bag in the gym when they wouldn't even reach my waist. But you they just lose interest once they reach their teens.
