Very exciting fight. Wilder looked gone but showed grit to pull it out. Coming in low in the weight may have helped with his conditioning at the back end of the fight. He wasn't lugging around anything extra.

I was a little surprised so many are objecting to the judges' scorecards. I thought Wilder won his share of the rounds until he struck trouble & that included a 10-8 round. Not surprised he was up on the cards.

Even though it held up against Ortiz (just) I think Wilder's chin is his biggest liability. That could spell trouble against Joshua although I don't think Joshua is packing granite either.

Will reserve judgement on the outcome of a fight between the two until we know the venue & see the lead-in fights. I don't think they'll fight next up. Maybe one more for Wilder & another couple for Joshua.

 

This is what we don't want to see.

He's got more talent than any fighter in the country but is throwing it away.

How does he expect to be able to prepare for fights properly with stuff like this hanging over his head?

I heard they finally located the last of the missing shards from Mundines chin that weren't recovered post Ottke. a few were found by a crew cleaning the rafters! They were immediately shipped to Anthony and I hear he was very pleased to have a missing part of him back.

Aus Boxing Update.
Renold Quinlan has certainly ambitious goals. He has 3 fights scheduled in 3
weight divisions within the space of 2 months. Damien Hooper at LHW April 7
then travel to Uzbekistan to battle Azizbek Abdugufurov on April 28 for vacant 168 lb
WBC Silver title and finally face Mark Lucas at 160 lbs at Sydney Casino May 29.
168 lb Jayden Mitchell faces Argentina Ariel Zampredi on March 17 . He then hopes
to fight Bilal Akkaway or Anthony Mundine.
Rising 130 lb Brisbane boxer James McDonald is heading to the Philippines to take part
in a 10 day training camp with IBF Champ Jerwin Ancajas. His coach Gareth Williams
said " There are many benefits to training in hot conditions, including improved blood
flow and heightened metabolic rate. "

Jeff Horn has laid out a battle plan for his Las Vegas fight with Terence
Crawford. Promising to bash and dominate Crawford every round and
trying his hardest to end the fight within the distance. Horn has the
stamina to win a brutal slugfest like the Pacquiao fight. He and his coach
Glen Rushton have been working hard on countering Crawford explosiveness
in sparring sessions where mobile cameras are banned. Rushton said Crawford
will be shocked by Horn's power and physical strength like Pacquiao was.
Horn has been working with his fitness coach Dundee Kim using small palm sized
punching mitts to make Horn punchers more accurate.
