I can confirm that Drews was paid to lose. He was quoted to have said to one boxing insider " I'll use this extra $$$$ to top up my superannuation fund".

 

Just when I thought heavyweight boxing could get no lower we have some clown in my forum saying it would be "AWESOME" to have a couple of bums in Brownes and Shannon Briggs fight for a version of the heavyweight crown in a boxing backwater, Australia. No thanks and I won't be watching.

We could still reminisce about my awesome ownership of the Abfabbers in the old thread but thanks to MP kicking an own goal we are left only with fond memories.

 

I have many fond memories of some tough as nails Australian boxers Ie ( Mr Harding , Lionel , Jeffery ) etc so please do not mistake this post as a slight upon the sport down under but the most cringe worthy feeling I ever had in 50 years of being involved in the sport of boxing was seeing Danny Green and his obviously ******ed mates celebrating beating up a shot to shite Roy Jones Jr , when Roy asked upon our Joseph and Enzo for a decent payday to sort his tax and retirement out both I'm happy to say respected the legend and obliged him and were humble enough to acknowledge they were lucky enough to help out but Greens pool side behaviour was an absolute disgrace imo .

Thats about right MP. Greens requested that Drews go down in flames like Tommy Morrison did against Ray Mercer all those years ago but Drews was having none of that and was content to lose on points without trying for $$$$$$$.
