He rolled the dice and it came up snake eyes," stated promoter Bob Arum, who revealed that a potential clash between 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao and former world champion Amir Khan is dead in the water. Speaking to Lance Pugmire of the L.A. Times, Arum explained that the offer for the proposed bout, which was supposed to take place at a venue in the United Arab Emirates, was never realistic and failed to materialize from the investors that Pacquiao's advisor, Michael Koncz, was speaking to.

"If something is too good to be true, it's too good to be true. That deal is done for now. They [Pacquiao and Koncz] were talking to the wrong people," Arum commented. Although he did not get into specific details regarding Pacquiao's next opponent, Arum did reveal that he sent him a new proposal for a potential July return. "Koncz will meet with Manny, and if he accepts it, we'll go ahead. If he doesn't, there's nothing we can do," he added. Don't be surprised if the opponent on that proposal is Jeff Horn, who Arum was originally hoping to match Pacquiao with prior to talks with Khan
