Someone just called this a great post....I tend to disagree. Lets break this down a bit, shall we....

No, he beat the number 1 p4p fighter in the world. Yes Hop is old, but he is a ****ing superhero the way he continues to defy age.

Now did he win this fight...I dont think Taylor did....but I will concede that it was close. You would have to be an idiot to not think so. So, he fought the NUMBER 1 P4P fighter in the world tough...something noone had done for over a decade. Pretty good if ya ask me.

Another fight I feel wasnt a win...I actually had it a draw, but the fact remains, he fought a future HOFer tough. Tough enough that this and its preceding fight are still debated to this day.

And keep in mind, noone had fought Hop this tough for YEARS!!!

Again, pretty damn good if ya ask me.

A terrible decision in whos eyes? Yours? I had it a draw. It was a great fight, one that could have went either way. And remember, he wanted an immediate rematch, Winky backed out to fight Ike Quartey instead....

Plus, Winky was another top 5 p4p fighter in the world at this point. Again, pretty damn good if ya ask me.

Ouma is an easy fight for WHO??? Why because he is smaller? Ouma is a former champion and an incredibly busy fighter. His output is ridiculous....he is the type of fighter your NOT supposed to walk through....and what happened in this fight?

It was pretty much a shutout! He handled Ouma better than most have. Dont forget, Ouma is a former champ and a hell of a fighter.

Again, pretty damn good if ya ask me.

Spinks is a former undisputed champion and a DEFENSIVE SOUTHPAW! As a boxing fan, do you understand that MOST fighters will look bad vs a defensive minded southpaw?

As for all the talk in the press conference.....did you just start to watch boxing? Its called prefight hype. Its what, as a fighter, you are SUPPOSED TO DO!!! It happens all of the time.

We will see, honestly. I have zero problems with people picking Pavlik...he is a good fighter. But he is a good pressure fighter. He will make Taylor fight....and what is the best weapon vs a good pressure fighter? A great jab...........and WHO just happens to have a great jab?

Jermaine Taylor...thats who.

Taylor will win this one UD. And I hope then the bs stops.

All I have to say is this....Joppy, Hop, Hop, Wright, Ouma, Spinks and now Pavlik....there arent 5 fighters active right now that can claim a past 6 fights like that.

Amen. I couldn't agree more. Taylor is a FRAUD who has been pushed by HBO and "won" virtually every fight he's had at the world class level by bogus GIFT DECISIONS. The rest have been against smaller fighters who were overmatched.

The sooner he gets knocked out and exposed for the hype job he is, the better for boxing.

 

It sound like HBO is the problem, not Taylor. ISn't that more the truth Zak? Why not BOYCOTT HBO for overhyping undeserving fighters?:deal

Taylor's done nothing but fight top guys and be a respectful champ and one of the VERY FEW guys in this sport people can look up to.

 

Well, you're right about that - Taylor per se isn't the problem, and yeah he seems like a nice guy. But this machine that took Hopkins' title unjustly, and then gave Taylor two more gifts has just gotta be stopped. And unfortunately, that means that Taylor has to suffer.

I don't really blame him - but these injustices are just SO maddening. And Taylor, unfortunately for him, is the latest symbol of boxing corruption. Luckily for us, he has to take this mandatory against Pavlik. Pavlik is, imo, the real deal, and I really do believe he will KO Taylor, and quite brutally, in fact.

Not quit sure where u are going w/ this. Thought BHop won the first fight, guess there shouldn't have been a re-match? Winky draw (I thouht Wink won) The Middleweight champ fights 2 147-154 lbs. I don't care how "slick" or tough they are-THEY AREN'T THREATS!!!!!!!!! He will be fighting a true Threat to his tiltle. Fighting a bigger man, bigger puncher and hungrier fighter. I've been in boxing for 25 years, so I know what Hype is. Problem is, it wasn't hype it was his true feelings! So be careful what you wish for JT!!!!
