That's what a promoter should do. As much as people dislike Oscar, he keeps Canelo's name on the news.

Yes, but is he selling tickets?

I give them a caveat because neither of their fighters speak English, but Ali wouldn't have been "The Greatest" if we spent 20 years listening to Angelo Dundee talk. There's nothing witty or likeable about their talk, I think Oscar and Abel do more harm for their fighters than good. I've already said that Oscar thoroughly screwed his fighter, a slick boxer, with all that "Mexican style" nonsense, and cost him the decision.

And Able has talked his man into a corner. If they don't fight Canelo next, who is it going to be? He's going to get stripped if he doesn't fight Charlo or Devery, and might be stripped of TWO belts. That's humiliating, right when people were getting over that "anybody from 154-168" and "he ran Kovalev out of the ring" nonsense.

I don't know about that. Pacquiao was very popular and his English was just as bad as GGGs.

Also, you don't have to be liked or be likeable to be promoted successfully. Mayweather was loathed.

I don't see how a promoter selling his fighter impacts the judge using the 10 pt must scoring system.

Bob Arum didn't talk Paquiao into corners. He really didn't do much talking about Pacquaio AT ALL, and once again, HE"S THE PROMOTER, it's his job to promote fights. Pacquaio got popular by being a unreal talent, who worked hard, had great charisma fought all the time, and had a lot of latino fighters in his weight classes.

Pacquiao got popular because Arum was very careful about who he matched him with and was the benefactor of some shady calls against JMM. Had they given JMM the first fight, and the 2nd one, who knows what it would have meant for Pacquiao's popularity.

Gotta agree, your job is to train the fighter. Whether a fight happens or not, that's a promoter/fighter issue.

Sad when you talk about GGG getting stripped of titles when you know in your hearts NONE of your idols can beat GGG in a fair fight

I agree about the JMM fights, but that doesn't mean that PAq isint a great fighter who has been doing this for 23 years. He has lost, he has won and he has juiced, but he always left it all in the ring, and the fans appreciate that
